How to Play the Sims!

Hello! A lot has happened in Simi Sunshine's world in a short period of time. I had hoped to use her for the Seasons expansion of the Sims 4 being released June 22, but Simi may be an elder before then. Time in the Sim world is very hard to explain. They age a year a day, but the bills come every three or four days which would be months, and they get paid everyday they work which should be by the week. Whatever you do while playing the Sims, don't think about the element of time because it doesn't make any sense.

It may be exciting to see what the Sims 4 developers have done to incorporate the seasons and time. Will we have three days of summer? How long do these seasons last? And how many seasons will a Sim see in their lifetime since they age so quickly? These are just a few of the questions I have for this new expansion and I am anxious to find out what kind of time warp these developers are going to throw at us!!

Simi began her journey like any other Sim. She is a nature lover and has the freelance botanist life goal. I added loves outdoors, outgoing, and self assured for her traits. I made her a little house without a computer. This saved me a few grand right off the bat so Simi has five thousand dollars to start. I did not build her a back porch and I forgot the lights in the house, but still a very affordable and comfortable home.

The first day she met her neighbors. This is where Simi met her new friend Kristine. Kristine is the one in the cat ears. She also met a nice couple from down the road. Kristine and Simi went to a party at the bluffs and became friends. It was there that Simi met a DJ named Joaquin...

Joaquin and Simi became friends easily and they got together while the romance festival was in town. The City Life expansion of the Sims 4 allows your Sims to visit the city for festivals. The romance festival gives your Sims a chance to get into the romantic mood. They serve tea that gives your Sims the flirty buff; making it easier to join two Sims into an unforeseen romance.

At the festival they increased their romance meters, had their first kiss, and became official boyfriend and girlfriend. It didn't take long before Simi invited Joaquin to move in to the house. He was living with a roommate across town so it was an easy move. When they tried to spend time together it seemed impossible with Joaquin's late night lifestyle. It wasn't long after that Joaquin quit his DJ gig and found a nice 9-5 job coding computers.

While Joaquin was learning to program and playing his computer games, Simi continued to paint and garden; increasing her skills. They planned a wedding and soon they were exchanging vowels and eating wedding cake. I'm not sure why they did not dress up for the ceremony. I must have missed a checkbox to make it formal. Simi also had to cook her own cake. But there was a kitchen at this location.

When your Sim plans a wedding, you can choose the bride and groom, the wedding guests, musician, cook, and the location. The wedding is a challenge in itself meaning you get points for each accomplished task. Some of the tasks are to talk to the guests, eat, have the married couple kiss and eat wedding cake. Simi and Joaquin were very tired by the end, but they did achieve a gold wedding. This gold status rewarded them many new appliances such as a microwave, a coffee maker, and a tea maker. I conclude it is worth it to try and pull off a gold wedding in Sims 4!

Not long after the wedding, Simi became pregnant with a little girl they named Fancy. Fancy was an easy baby, and most of the time Simi and Joaquin could handle it. They took turns tending to the baby and the garden. It wasn't until Fancy was a toddler they enlisted the help of a nanny. They did however turn down many invitations from friends to attend parties and events. Ah, the life of a parent Sim...

During this time the little house took on more renovations as I needed to add a room for Fancy. I also decided that Simi needed her own studio to paint. I added an extra room and a back porch. In this room I placed the computer. Now Simi could paint and Joaquin could play games and program in the same room. Before long, the house was very big. I moved the bathrooms and the kitchen, added enough room for a dining table and more space in the living room. Their bills increased after this.

I can't imagine trying to heat and cool an open space like this. We will see if they add heating and cooling costs in the new Seasons expansion of the Sims 4. If they do, it could change the way that we design and build our Sims' houses.

I hope you have learned a little more about how to play the Sims 4, how to make use of the City Life romance festival, and how to go about achieving a gold wedding! I have many questions pertaining to the release of the new Seasons expansion and I can't wait till the end of June. Why do they torture us with the wait!!!!
