How to Play the Sims!

Hello! I haven't written much about how to play the Sims 4 in a while, so I thought I would start again with the new game pack being released later in June. I had hoped to play more of the Jungle Adventure game pack, but I kept getting side tracked. This new game pack is called Seasons and will allow your Sims to experience the four different seasons of winter, spring, summer and fall.

They will be able to dress for the weather and spend time outdoors doing seasonal activities such as building a snowman. I haven't been playing any particular Sim for a while, so I decided to create a new Sim for the occasion. Before I introduce the new Sim, take a look at the Sims 4 Seasons trailer to see the game additions to come.

The Seasons game pack of the Sims 4 will be adding new clothes, activities and professions.

They had me at floral arrangements.

Gardening has always been one of my favorite skills in the Sims 4 and they will be continuing the fun by adding a new gardening career! In this career you can expand your Sim's gardening skills, discover new breeds of plants and deliver flowers to customers around town.

In addition to the new career, your Sims will be able to celebrate the upcoming holidays, sun bathe, let their toddlers wade in the baby pool, and go ice skating! With new ways to live in Seasons, they also give your Sims new ways to die. Being exposed to the elements will mean your Sims will need to dress for the weather so they do not freeze to death or become over heated. You can pre-order the game pack now and the game will be live June 22.

To prepare for the new expansion, I created a new Sim I named Simi Sunshine. She will be the Sim I will play for the Seasons. Since I want to play the florist career I made sure Simi was a gardening Sim by giving her the nature life goal and traits such as loves outdoors. She has been developing her gardening skills for now.

When I logged into the game, I noticed the Sims 4 was also featuring a Boost Week.

To activate this boost, you will need to use your Sim's phone to call Jasmine Holiday. When she shows up at the door, you can then select the boost you would like for the week. You can choose to boost your Sim's cooking and gardening skills, their creative skills, or their needs. I selected the gardening boost for Simi. This means she will increase her gardening and cooking skills during the week until the boost ends.

Here is Simi gardening in front of the little house I built her. This house has one bedroom, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. Simi lived there almost a week before I noticed she didn't have any lights, or a back door, but she was fine. I put some lights in and we will just hope she doesn't need an alternate escape route.

I have uploaded both Simi Sunshine and the house into the Sims 4 community gallery, so anyone can download her to begin playing. Be warned you will have to add lights to the house. I started Simi out in the painting career so she could begin painting for extra income. She is quite talented. She made lots of friends in the neighborhood and even went to a party down at the bluffs.

Here is an example of her romantic painting. If you decide to have one of your Sims a painter, try using different moods. Your Sims will paint different pictures for each mood they are in. For example Simi watched a romantic movie before painting this one. Your Sim can become inspired by taking a thoughtful shower, be confident after brushing their teeth, and can become goofy by watching comedy on the television.

If you are planning on purchasing the new expansion Seasons in the Sims 4, take advantage of the triple boost this week to boost your Sims skills before the release date. This way your Sim will be ready to take on the new challenges. Or, you may want to wait until the expansion comes out to make a new Sim because they may add a new life goal or traits with the new game play. Either way, have fun preparing.
