Ark - Our new sheep pen

in #gaming7 years ago

More about our activities in the Highlands of the Ragnarok map in Ark: Survival Evolved!

I showed you the horses we tamed before. They took up residence right next to the lighthouse, which is the beacon for our new home. Below the lighthouse are grassy hills and close to home, we build a little sheep pen on the grass.

My boyfriend was eager to get some sheep, because you can cut them for wool. Once you have enough of that, you can make a set of warm clothes to wear when you want to explore icy lands!

This sheep has all of its wool. Then, my boyfriend arrived:

With scissors! Before you know it, the sheep is left without wool and we'll wait until it grows back again.

Now we didn't tame these sheep. They aren't actually ours, but still wild sheep. We picked them up with our big birds and dropped them into the enclosure to make sure they would stay with us. You need things certain items to tame them, which we don't have yet. It's okay, this works fine for now.

My idea was to tame plenty of horses and drop them in there aswell, simply because it would look awesome!

It's just that horses are able to walk over the fence. It's not easy for them to escape, but they can. I don't think I mind too much though, rather have that than raise the fence. It would look ugly!

We've got a few other dinos tamed and they are free to roam, so I'll be fine with horses roaming free too.

More Ark stories later!

You can collect sheep using birds? :D That sounds great! It's a shame we didn't have the balls to tame a bird. But it will soon change because I became a bachelor yesterday! Finally, I'm behind all that suffering, and I'll have time to play some game and Ark too :)

Now I'm trying to write such a summary of my college years, but because it is bilingual, it's quite a hard work! :D Perhaps I will finish it today.

Yeah! It did need a little server adjustment though to allow us to pick up dinos. Though maybe that was only for friendly dinos... I'm not sure!

Congratulations on becoming a bachelor! I'm so happy to hear you managed it :D

It did need a little server adjustment though to allow us to pick up dinos.

I would expect it will work even without adjustments. Eagles wore the prey in their claws normally :D

And thank you! I was terribly nervous because there were so many things to learn, but I did it! Finally, I have peace... :D

I so badly need to get this game. I started watching pythonGB play this and it looked like so much fun. Then I saw some of the mods like pugnatia and oh my goodness I want to play so bad lol. Maybe next time it goes on sell I will have the money to get it lol.

It's a really fun game to play. I love exploring the map and taming many dinos :-)

I've always been intrigued by Ark: Survival Evolved but I've not given it a fair chance yet. I will say one thing, the graphics are amazing!

I never really got the goal of the game though, is it more of an open-world survival game or an MMO?

The graphics really are amazing! It's more of a survival game. Sure, in public servers, you can join a tribe and 'raid' together I guess, though we never tried that. I don't like open servers, because there are many ugly buildings ruining the view! I play it alone or I host an instance for me and my boyfriend. That way, we can enjoy the beauty of the map and just build, tame and explore :-)

Haha!! it's been long since I last saw one of your posts (it seems I don't open when you do) @playfulfoodie... It seems that you're still playing Ark. good to know~

Included your post in my Gaming Daily today.

By the way, since you linked to G2A I thought you might want to read about why it's hated by a lot of people.

Loved the sheep :)

Aww thanks for mentioning me in your post! Yeah, I don't stumble upon your posts a lot either. I don't visit my feed too often, so I have to have a moment of "Hey, what are the people I follow up to?" :-)

Bah, why do people ruin sites through stealing stuff :-( I have plenty of unused keys by now that I wanted to sell on there some day, but I guess I'll have to find another way. How is your key selling going? Still doing that on Steemit?

How is your key selling going? Still doing that on Steemit?

Stopped doing for now, I still have most of the keys (plus new ones) so I'll probably restart it someday... it's just that when SBD went above $1 and I didn't have much time then... I stopped temporally until now.

Tell me if you want to see my list or know someone who does, I'll try to make a new list.

Aye, I understand that. I have such a big list of games in my Steam library now and hardly played any of them. I think I should stick to what I have for now, since I don't play a lot at all currently. For now, it's basically just Ark now and then :-)

It's still one of the games that I didn't played.
What are your thoughts about it? Are you enjoying? :D

Cheers,

t-miles

I always enjoy playing Ark! I love exploring the environment there and taming some dinos. I do have to say I enjoy playing single player or private instances more though. I haven't spend a lot of time on public servers, because I'm not looking for the competative side of the game. I'd much rather have a map all to myself to explore its full beauty, instead of looking at big, ugly buildings others made ;-)

So in other words the game is worth it, right? I don't have the game, but if I buy one day is only for single player. Multiplayer I'm thinking other games like Rust, the future new Terrraria, and etc.

Cheers!

The game is definitely worth getting. Maybe you can find a sale for it some day :-)

I've actually been looking at Rust a couple of times, but I feel I'll probably enjoy Ark more, because of the world it is set in. I'm not much of a fan of big machinery and guns and I'm not much of a multiplayer either (exept for mmo's when I'm in the mood).

Terraria, the pixelish game? I never gave it any attention to be honest! Didn't think it would be a multiplayer even :D

You have my attention now ahah
I was not really into this game, but you explain me better how works. Maybe I will buy it in a near future!

Yes, the pixel games. But yeah you can play multiplayer there. They even have channels with lots of stuff.

:D
