Steem Blockchain eSports Team & Events - Codename: Kawaii [Launch Announcement]

Today, we're proud to announce Money Match Gaming's Blockchain eSports Campaign - Funded by The Steem Blockchain & Other Dapps. This project is titled Codename: Kawaii, also CNK and CNKE(Codename: Kawaii eSports).

Dec 7th marks the day that MMG will begin our Steem Blockchain funded eSports campaign, codename: Kawaii. This project will use the Steem Blockchain to fund competitive online( eSports) events, where players are reward with cash prizes(or Steem/SBD if they wish), as well as an eSports Team.

I - Codename: Kawaii - eSports Campaign Goals

Codename: Kawaii has 3 main goals, which include: introducing the competitive Smash Bros. community to the Steem Blockchain and the potential of cryptocurrency in eSports, to fund a circuit of eSports events that are appealing to top 50 PandaGlobal PR players in Super Smash Bros, and to create an eSports team from our communities top players, that will bridge the gap between playing online and traveling to major events a barrier in eSports), bringing what we believe will be the first eSports team that is regularly filled with WiFi Warriors that would otherwise never have the opportunity to compete at such events.

In January of 2018, Money Match Gaming began phase one of this process, which focused on introducing our community to the Steemit, and informing them as to how we have been using it to help fund our events. This was done, by requiring a Steemit account after a player had competed in 3 or more MMG events, which we felt was fair, since our events are free to play and offer a $35 Prize Pool to 1st - 3rd place. Players that did not wish to create a Steemit account had the option to make a donation to MMG or be denied from the event. This plan was not as effective as we had hoped for, due to the time that it takes to get a new Steemit account approved(can range between 2 days and 3 weeks, unless paid for). However, we still saw at least 30 members of the MMG community create Steemit accounts( or attempt to), before we became more relaxed in our methods.

II - How Codename: Kawaii Will Fund MMG’s Esports Events

Codename: Kawaii will use various mediums to collect a “Total Prize Pool”, which will be divided into percentages with specific funding purposes. The Total Prize Pool will be divided each month as follows: 30% will be used to fund an MMG Major Event(currently titled ‘The Clash In Smash’), another 10% will be used to fund giveaways and special events(aimed at pleasing casual gamers), and 60% of of the Total Prize Pool will roll over each month, so that the pool is never fully depleted. At the time of a IRL Major event, 10% of the total Prize Pool may be used to sponsor any top ranked players in MMG’s community(‘currently titled ‘God Tier’), in tandem with any extra funds from MMG's Power Downs.

a. Power Down for Weeklies

On Dec 7th, MMG will begin to Power Down SP(Steem Power) to help fund our weekly Free-2-Play events. The percentage of SP set to Power Down will also be determined on that day. Until then, efforts will be made to increase MMG’s SP to a level that we might be able to withdraw as much 300 SP per month, providing us the ability to hold $100 Prize Pool weekly online events in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Note: The crypto(money) that is Powered Down is not a part of the Codename: Kawaii Total Prize Pool, and will not go toward funding MMG’s Major events. The reason for this is that our Steem Power is influenced by Money Match Gaming operating as a bid bot on the Steem Blockchain, which does provide a more stable source of funding, but fails to incentivize community engagement. For this reason, all that is Powered Down will only be used for weekly events, and funding for the eSports Team(travel, jersey, etc for players).

b. Funding Majors - Codename: Kawaii

The prize pool for MMG’s major events(Codename:Kawaii event ‘The Clash In Smash’)will be pooled directly from the earnings of MMG’s posts on Steemit, Dlive, Dtube, and other Dapps on the Steem Blockchain. In this way, each month our community will have the opportunity to boost the monthly prize pool

III - The Fundamentals of Codename: Kawaii

Codename: Kawaii is meant to run as a social experiment, where the MMG community directly influences the prize pool at each event, by way of engagement on social media posts. An example of how this would play out on a platform like Instagram: ‘If this post receives 500 likes, MMG will giveaway 2 copies of Smash Bros. Ultimate. If this post only gets 250 likes we’ll giveaway 1 copy’. In this example our audience is incentivized to to engage with a post in order to receive a reward. Now, on Steemit a post like this would be shunned upon for it’s caption, but it’s not so different from the reality of how Steemit works. If you believe in this project...show your support. We will reward you based on the amount of support we receive. This is how Codename: Kawaii will function on a fundamental level. Posts with a call to action like in the example will only be used on non-Decentralized Social Media Platforms, where participants will be rewarded for their engagement with 10% of the total Codename: Kawaii Prize Pool Fund.

Previously, the MMG team had decided that codename:kawaii would be used to host Overwatch events, but after seeing the engagement from our community, we have decided to shift this project to focus on the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

IV - Steemit eSports Campaign - 10,000 SP - 1000 Gamers Strong

To achieve our goals with the eSports team and weeklies(which we believe will both be major driving forces in Codename: Kawaii), we will first begin an eSports Funding Campaign on Steemit. The campaign will primarily focus on outreach gamers in the Steemit community, with a mission to receive a delegation of 10 SP from 1000 gamers on the Steem Blockchain.

For this campaign to be successful, the co-founders of MMG (@theinfinite @ukuleletutorials @mainos12345) will be personally reaching out to a minimum of 2,000 accounts on the Steem Blockchain by way of Discord, @Dlive, @Dtube, @SteepShot, and @Steemitblog posts.

It is our hopes that this campaign will not only see Money Match Gaming to the funding needed to host our eSports events and eSports team, but that it will also lead us to the discovery of some of Steemit’s hidden talents in gaming and other related industries(ie music and art).

V - Steemit eSports Team Campaign - Become A Sponsor

While the majority of our campaign will focus on receiving delegations of 10 SP, we also have plans to accept and incentivize larger delegations.

Any delegations of 100 SP or more, for a duration of at least 8 weeks, will receive a spot on MMG’s quarterly sponsors reel, which will be played at the end of all MMG events and Dlive streams.

Delegations of 500 SP or more, for a duration of at least 8 weeks, will receive a spot on MMG’s event sponsors reel, played at the beginning of all MMG events, as well as a premier placement on MMG’s quarterly sponsors reel, which plays at the end of all MMG events and Dlive streams.

a. MMG’s Premiere Sponsorship Packages

Delegations of 1000SP and up will be thrown into a lottery for a free spot on MMG’s eSports Jersey. All Delegations of 1000 SP will also be invited to MMG’s eSports Jersey Auction, where they will have the opportunity to bid for spots on MMG’s eSports Jersey.

All Delegation over 1000 SP will also be mentioned as Sponsors at the bottom of all MMG Steemit posts, and in designated places on MMG’s official website.

Delegations of 1000 SP or more, for a duration of at least 8 weeks, will be eligible for a spot on MMG’s eSports Jersey, which players will wear at Major eSports events. Delegations of 100 SP or more will also receive a a Premier spot on MMG’s event sponsors reel, played at the beginning of all MMG events, as well as a premier placement on MMG’s quarterly sponsors reel, which is played at the end of all MMG events and Dlive streams.

Delegations of 2000 SP or more, for a duration of at least 8 weeks, will receive a spot on MMG’s eSports Jersey, which players will wear at Major eSports events. Delegations of 200 SP or more will also receive a a Premier spot on MMG’s event sponsors reel, played at the beginning of all MMG events, as well as a premier placement on MMG’s quarterly sponsors reel, which is played at the end of all MMG events and Dlive streams.

Delegations of 5000 SP or more, for a duration of at least 8 weeks, will receive a Premiere spot on MMG’s eSports Jersey, which players will wear at Major eSports events. Delegations of 5000 SP or more will also receive a a Premier spot on MMG’s event sponsors reel, played at the beginning of all MMG events, as well as a premier placement on MMG’s quarterly sponsors reel, which is played at the end of all MMG events and Dlive streams. Delegation of this range will also be mentioned as Premiere sponsor on MMG’s official website.

All Sponsorships are considered on a quarterly basis. If a sponsor decides to remove their delegation to Money Match Gaming, we will remove them from the next quarter’s Sponsors.

Though, users may take the initiative to delegate their SP to our cause now (which will be graciously received), we will be officially launching the campaigning portion of Codename: Kawaii on September 3, 2018.

VI - Eager To Play In MMG Events?

Sign-Up for MMG’s Smash Ultimate events will be free to play with a Steemit account. For those that are on our Steemit waiting list (taking the Steem Hardfork into consideration) will have the option to either use paypal to pay for the event, or share MMG’s event image on their social media profile using the hashtag #CNKE (Codename: Kawaii eSports) and provide the link to the post (all done in a signup form).

We are currently developing a new website, which will contain more information about events, as we get closer to Dec 9th. Until then, stay tuned for more updates, here on Steemit and via [MMG’s Discord]().

The mission of Codename: Kawaii is to get as many gamers on the Steem Blockchain as possible, and enlighten them to their own potential, as a community, that reshape the world of eSports.
