Before going into today review, permit me to give a brief description of my old game review nonstop Knight.

Below is a brief description of my last review.

In nonstop Knight you will need to slay the undead, in other to earn more money so as to be able to upgrade weapons. By doing this there will be enough funds to buy up his stats so as to be able to defeat the boss.

Nonstop Knight is a clicker game from flaregames, and if you are the type that don’t like clicker games it is advisable to skip this game.
Nonstop Knight graphics is impressive, the battle animations is eye catching, the characters and the dungeons. Everything here looks crisp and rich, from the protagonist to the blasts and jumps, and slashing swords. The sound score is good enough to provide the extra immersion effect, but it’s not sickeningly catchy.

Introduction

In wizards and wagons through trading, since the demon lord has been defeated and peace has been completely restored back, initially the game character was a hero before who slayed beast, but since peace has been fully restored, is job is no longer needed. If this was a real life situation the hero might end up creating scene and later come back to save the day. Heroes need crisis and war. That’s when they reveal their true potential and fulfill their destiny. But in this game you are only armed with a small wagon, in which you are expected to make a living with it. Heroes need to make end means as they are often broke losers when there are no wars, only if they have save for the raining days. So, you lose your house to some mean merchant, and now you need to earn a fortune to buy it back. You will need to make use of a self-driving cart a wizard gives you to making deliveries of goods to and fro in different cities.

Gameplay

From the introductory statement I made above the game might seems to be about riding a self-driving cart and delivering goods from town to town, earning cash. There is more to it, find out what it is as you read further. As soon as you begin your journey, you’ll be asked to visit the Marketplace to equip your wagon with a few goods. You are not expected to just choose randomly what you want to carry in other to the cart, wait for directions from the game tells as it will help you choose wisely on variety of goods you need to have on the wagon in order to earn the most money at the next town. All you need to do is tap and drag the desired good at a free spot on your wagon.

Screenshot_20171210-102746~2.png

Of course you don’t do that for free but you have to spend gold to purchase them. Your goal is to make more money than you spend, and to achieve that you must always make sure you know which city is more likely to buy certain goods in a higher price than you got them. For that, you must always check what goods each city lacks and use that in your advantage. Is this not quiet fun of you been a trader while playing game.
After finishing this task you will be asked to visit the next town, and this is basically the main routine of the game. Leaving a town is not the easiest thing to do though, as the roads hide many dangers- mainly bandits and monsters that will attack your wagon from all sides in order to destroy it.

Screenshot_20171210-102911~2.png

The wagon rides automatically so you won’t have to worry about that. The difficult part is, fighting the enemies is not an easy task although, you will be expecting a fist fight or gun battle as a former hero, instead you will have to tap on each one in order to fire arrows or spells against them. They’re also moving quite fast so it takes a lot of practice to defeat them with the least possible damage to your wagon. When you progress enough and have more weapons at your disposal, you can tap at the icon appearing at the right of your screen to toggle between weapons.
Each weapon is labeled to indicate how many times it can be used. But remember, you need space for goods in your wagon so don’t overdo it with weapons or you’ll be up for a bad surprise.
Having damages though, is not that bad, since you can repair your wagon at the next town’s blacksmith. You can also buy a new wagon there or equip your current one with various weapons. Green slots are for equipment that targets enemies automatically or grands passive abilities. On the other hand, weapons that can be placed into blue slots must be manually aimed or activated during combat.

Visiting the Guilt offers you various options such as choosing an assignment, as you know after successful completion of assignment there is always a reward after fulfilling the objective.

Screenshot_20171210-102915~2.png

The Assignments are randomly generated and different for every town. If you fail to complete an assignment you could get a penalty. You can also take a loan if you are in need of money but make sure you read the terms (interest, time limit) to see if you can pay it back in time.

Towns are full of people, most of whom have something to say and it’s really fun to read their lines and find out what interesting things they have to say. Some of them will also ask for your help (i.e. complete tasks with rewards that could exceed the ones given by the Guild), and some others are the people you needed to find from your previous quest, so make sure you “speak” to all of them so as not to miss anything.

Each town has a different look and different goods that it offers and demands. There is a town panel in your screen that presents a summary of these goods and resources.

Game Features

Cart: most carts have limited slots, and each slot is determined by the type of your cart. Each slot are for different purposes, as there are slots for weapons, potions and perks, and goods. Since the number of slots is limited and there is nothing you can do about it, sometimes you will need to sacrifice self-defense and life to be able to carry more goods.

Map: the map has many cities, but they are only available once you get to the nearby cities available to you. Each city has the information board that tells you critical and important information about the city –like the goods in supply and demand, and some other useful tips. Each city also has badges you can earn by completing quests. Note each city has its own townsfolk, a market, a blacksmith and a guild.

Screenshot_20171210-102750~2.png

The people walking around the city’s main square have speech bubbles, some have quest bubbles. Tap on the speech bubbles to find out more about rumors and prices. Tap on the quest bubbles to undertake a side quest that might be quite lucrative, lucrative in the sense of having extra cash to make a trade.

Market: the market is easy to read based on the panel of your cart and the market’s goods. You can drag and drop the goods you have in your cart into the market, then you wait for the game to make the funds calculation. Tap Trade or Cancel and you’re done. You don’t have to make two-way trade, however. You can buy, or sell depending on your plans. The map has a zoom-in and out option, so you can investigate the routes, the cities boards and perks. The difficulty here is how dispersed the goods in supply and demand are all across the map. You can’t just go back and forth between two cities, you need to move on. Of special difficulty to me personally i memorize the names of the cities. When you accept a quest, or read the townsfolk rumors, you can draw some pretty valuable intel, provided you know the whereabouts very well. Otherwise, you can get a little disoriented from the amount of new data, names, prices.

Blacksmith: Blacksmith are also traders they sell new carts, combat equipment and the repair for your damaged cart at a price.

En route: this are the route you pass through while travelling, as usual your cart is constantly under attack while you travel. Pirates, archers, crows, slime, some magic beasts, the more you advance the creepier they become. So, you must have a weapon, and you must restore your cart’s health whenever you can. The combat is not that simple as you will need to tap on the enemy fast as fast as possible. If you die, the kind wizard will revive you and offer two locations to teleport you to. You only lose some small percentage of your funds when you die, so there is no permanent death.

Screenshot_20171210-103314~2.png

Guild: the Guild is where you find different quests, the difference between the townsfolk quests and the guild quests is the penalty you have to pay if you fail to complete the task within a given time. Now, be very careful with the Guild quests, at times the Guild provides the goods, but sometimes you have to buy them. The ridiculous part is the goods you need to buy in a specific quest you accept from a specific city guild may be absent from that city market. Sometimes, they would be available in the city markets you have not unlocked yet. So, be you need to be very careful with what you accept. One of the intriguing part about guild is that you can also borrow some fund, and pay it back later with the interest.

Screenshot_20171210-103310~2.png

Calendar: is there to put the game into more or less realistic time constraints. Each ride to the neighboring city takes X number of days, you cannot stop mid-way, but you can camp in a city to skip a day and take advantage of a Black Friday bacchanalia.

Design

Wizards and Wagons has an accessible UI and quite easy to grasp menus – all you need is some trial and error to see how the quests and trading work. It’s a living network of trade and production, so there are a lot of information to grasp and keep in mind. I found it challenging to come to terms with my whereabouts and quest status after a day’s worth pause in playing the game.

Graphics & Sounds

The graphics are amazing and fluid with crystal-clear colors and adorable character designs. Honestly, the characters look like little anthropomorphic animals, similar to Final Fantasy, but when you visit the Marketplace or the Guild for example, you realize that they are actual people.

Screenshot_20171210-102919~2.png

The towns, environments, and virtually everything has attention to detail and hold a true RPG (Role Playing Games) feeling. Same goes for the BG music which is very fitting to the concept. Visually, Wizards and Wagons are colorful, I dare say Zelda-like, feast for the eyes. Each city is a picture to behold, and the menus are detailed and beautifully rendered. I never felt bored looking at each and every scene of the game. The sounds are entertaining and quite catchy, in line with the gameplay. Sometimes, the writing will catch your eye with its wits and humor, so don’t miss out on the rumors.

In-App Purchases

There are no IAPs in Wizards & Wagons, you will only pay once before downloading once you have make successful purchase of the game and you will have full access to every features of the game.

Verdict

Wizard and Wagon is a trading game, if like those that trade a lot then I will say you will love to play wizard and wagon . The game requires hefty micromanagement, and some hard challenge with cute graphics. The more casual players, however, might feel overwhelmed by its challenge. Wizards and Wagons, an RPG(Role Playing Games) that strays from the usual fighting storylines and focuses on trading goods, with the difference that in this game you are not stationed in one place, but you’re the one traveling to find costumers and trade products. Some fighting elements are also present to enrich the gameplay but that’s not the main objective. The developer team Touch Dimensions, explored new fields for their game and it was worth it.

Conclusion

The game is quite fun to play anybody can play since it is not a shooting where there may be bloodshed, that is why it is rated 3+. I know trading RPGs(Role Playing Games) is not what everybody will like, but if you’re a fan of RPGs and want to try something different than just fights against monsters, and test your economic abilities, then Wizards and Wagons is highly recommended- it encompasses many elements in great balance between them. It is hard to figure out what goods to trade or if it is worth travelling a long way risking your wagon in the process, only to arrive to a town and find out your goods are no longer in demand. But getting the gist of it is all you need to enjoy the game to the fullest. I have not experienced any performance issues with the game, and despite its difficulty it feels well-balanced. Since the game is premium, there are no ads or IAPs. The game itself is the economics challenge that might be hard for the mathematically impaired, but the overall experience is that of a solid, deep trade simulation with an immense durability.
