Spintires: Mudrunner Review - diamond in the rough

Deep in the northern coniferous forests sounded a heavy reed, accompanied by the sound of spinning tires (spintires!). With a loud creak a number of trees fell and the big form of a truck dammed between the trees. The truck involved a load of trunks, but had a long way to go to the sawmill. It had rained a lot lately, so all the roads had become real mud trails (mudrunner!). 4-wheel drive and take great care, the driver could not do more.

Fame under the pc and trucker elite

Welcome to the wonderful world of off-road lorry drivers! With Spintires: Mudrunner gets you hurt with all the nasty and muddy situations that get this appeal for his choices. In the game you get acquainted with a total of nineteen types of terrain vehicles, so in the end you may probably call yourself an expert. The question I especially had when I started playing Mudrunner was: does this make for a fun gameplay experience?

Mud fat

It was already known to me that the original Spintires was widely praised, but would the game please me? When reading terms like "challenging off-road trucking sim" my (black gamers) heart certainly does not hit faster. It is Mudrunner's task that you have to transport trunks from A to B through heavy terrain with big trucks. This seems boring, but you get to do with all kinds of things like an empty tank, damaged vehicle and especially difficult to ride. You will release additional vehicles when you encounter them, and you will be at your disposal. This includes repair trucks and fuel trucks, which you both need sooner or later. The game is definitely not easy. This is mainly because there is actually no game that also plays this way, and this involves a different mindset than usual with games with cars. Mudrunner asks for patience, insight, preparation and inventiveness. Yes, you did not think that you would need this skills set as a trucker!

Mudphysics

Fortunately, the game begins with a tutorial explaining the semi-simulator controls. As a new addition, Mudrunner has nine challenges to explain to you what tactics, vehicles and capabilities you can get. Keeping up the rough terrain and planning well when you use which car, it's all about that. It is beautiful how the forest areas look and the realistic physics of the site is of an unprecedented high level. So you can also really drive your truck deeper into the mud and then have a hoist freeze yourself, and every hub can be a challenge. In the default mode, you get a global assignment, and you need to see it yourself to find out how to accomplish this. Multiplayer is also possible, up to four people online. Unfortunately, I have not been able to test this.

Conclusion

Spintires: Mudrunner is literally a diamond in the rough. It's a unique game that shows that you can make a good game anywhere. in this case a game where you have to drive realistically by lorries, so. It's very relaxing and you really need to take the time. Short play sessions are happily possible thanks to constant auto-save (this is missing from the challenges), but that does not work well. A few times i knew how to make the point literally that i really had to start all over again, so i found a manual save function more finely. In addition, after playing this game, I suspect i will never try to get my driving license C. The pieces that i had to drive back with a trailer are so hilariously bad that i think many truckers are laughing at this. So i love Mudrunner, and with more fun than i ever thought. TOE-TEST!
