Game of the year - Best action adventure game of 2017

in #gaming7 years ago (edited)

We have seen the necessary highs and lows last year. From returning classics, games from previous years that were provided with content, appearing and disappearing microtransactions and lots of great gaming experiences. Today the Best Action Adventure Game of 2017.

Honorable mentions: Yakuza 0 , Uncharted: The Lost Legacy , The Evil Within 2 .

5. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

In Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice we play Senua, which leads to a psychosis. This creates some audiovisual quirks for her and the player. Voices in her head continue to speak to her, which gives us some light hints about what has happened in her past and how her mind gradually breaks apart with every step she takes towards hell. The game dares to enter untracked paths and does so in a beautiful way.

4. Assassin's Creed Origins

There was no other choice to return Assassin's Creed to its previous glory. After the double death of Assassin's Creed: Unity and Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, two games with design and technical problems (especially in Unity) combined with the fatigue of the franchise, Ubisoft with Origins had to make a triumphant return with the Assassin's Creed series . And that is exactly what has been done. Assassin's Creed Origins is a triumph. A triumph to the individuals and studios that were involved in the production and above all a triumph to those who had the courage to postpone the release for a year. The result is not only the best Assassin's Creed ever, but also one of the best games of the year.

3. Kidney: Automata

Kidney: Automata is a unique game, not only because of the constant interplay that PlatinumGames plays between genres and perspectives, but especially because it creates something much bigger thanks to the underlying ideas. I am not really a super optimistic person and I probably feel so at home in the thinking world of developer Yoko Taro. Although it feels frightening to process the robots into electronic scrap, Nier: Automata achieves a very special place between the RPGs because of his emotional story and the pained atmosphere.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This is the biggest and most ambitious game that Nintendo has ever made and the best part is that it's not about size and production, but about the obvious talent and fun that can be read from every hole in the game. Breath of the Wild changes the range forever and lets its predecessor feel like a very small game. It does the impossible by letting Zelda take a new direction. The leap from a fixed adventure to a world that is free to explore provides a new masterpiece in the genre. A game that is surprising and brilliant in many areas, with a strong unique identity, challenge and satisfaction. From the moment you enter The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you'll be prepared for one of the best adventures ever made.

1. Horizon Zero Dawn

Guerrilla, with Horizon Zero Dawn, actually stepped out of the shadow of the Killzone series and placed herself and their talent in the spotlight as an international AAA developer. It was a bold move, an attempt at something unique, different and innovative, and I am happy to finally report that Horizon Zero Dawn not only lives up to the promise of the trailers and the sky-high expectations, but actually exceeds them. It is beautiful, well written, well designed, has the heart in the right place and respects the player. Aloy is a new PlayStation icon, Horizon Zero Dawn should be the basis for a future iconic PlayStation series. Guerrilla gives a masterclass in the genre with Horizon.

Great post. Can I ask you for cool co-op games for low-end PCs? Me and my friend have played a few including Alien Swarm and Left 4 Dead but now are stuck playing brawlhalla because we don't have any more games

Here are some great co-op games I would recommend. I'm not sure what you and your friends game style preference is so I'll include a variety.

  1. Borderlands 2 - great looter shooter, a ton of fun, good art style, and hilarious writing. This qould be my go to recommendation, I've got almost 100 hours in this game. If shooting and looting is your style then I'd say give Borderlands 2 a try. The game originally came out in 2012 so the min. system requirements should be easily attainable.

  2. Portal 2 - This is probably the best puzzle game I know. Again a great game to play with a friend, the puzzles are extremely interesting and the writing is hilarious. Portal 2 is a lot shorter than the other games in this list, you should be able to get through it in 10-20 hours, so if you're looking for a shorter game and your into puzzle games, this is a fantastic game to check out.

  3. Terraia/Minecraft - These are both crafting/sandbox games, I'm sure you're familiar with Minecraft. Terraia is very similar to Minecraft but it is 2D and takes a more adventure oriented approach to the sandbox genre of games. If you are into the sandbox crafting genre I'd suggest checking our Terraia, there's still a lot of support for this game and you can easily sink a ton of time into it with you're friends.

  4. Rocket League - This game has become extremely popular as of late, it's essentially soccer with rocket cars. I don't think I can really adequately describe Rocket League to you so suffice it to say this game is stupidly fun and I'd recommend looking it up because it's crazy.

  5. World of Warships - This game is made by the same devs that made World of Tanks. I just recently started playing this game and it's been suprisingly fun and it is pretty laid back. If floating around shooting massive canons is your style then I'd recommend checking out World of Warships. (This game is also F2P)

  6. Warframe - To be honest I'm not sure this will be super helpful recommendation, but Warframe is a fantastic Destiny sytle F2P looter shooter that I would highly recommend to anyone. I'm not sure what the system requirements are but I imagine they are quite high since it is a particle intensive game. It is also a little hard to get into, but if you and your friends are looking for a game to really sink your teeth into, this would be it. It also supports more 2-4 player co-op.

Hope this helps. I'd love to hear your thoughts on any of these games if you end up trying one out :)

Definitely trying out Borderlands 2 man thank you!

Payday 2, left 4 dead 2, killing floor 1, Torchlight 2, Castle Crashers, UnEpic and 2d sidescroller dungeon crawler there are so many, u can have fun with.
