Civilization VI Review - Convincing from the first moment
The Civilization series has been around for almost thirty years. Since its introduction on the PC it has always been a typical PC game. Attempts have been made to bring the experience of Civilization to other platforms, but that included concessions and lesser experience. With that history in mind, it was quite striking that Civilization VI appeared on the iPad from scratch.
Civilization VI for the iPad
To begin with, the game is not simplified. Yes, the interface is something else, because with an iPad you control everything via the touchscreen. But outside of that it is the normal 'basic' experience. Basic because the various dlc parts that you already have on the PC are still absent on the iPad. Poland is not available on the iPad. That is the only restriction at the same time.
Civilization VI is pricey
There is one disadvantage to this extension. If you find it difficult to spend more than three euros for an iPad game, then Civilization VI is going to be a big problem. You pay the price that you would normally pay for a full PC game. There is an action up in this month with which you can score the game for half the price. For example, I have deposited a little more than thirty euros for the game myself. And yes, that's a lot of money for something that I buy on the iPad. But it is Civilization VI and it works well.
I played the game on the first generation iPad Air and it just works properly. It was difficult to play a huge map with a mountain of peoples, City States and barbarians. But on a small map with four people and six City States it is pretty good to do. I have played dozens of pots for over a week. And I really enjoyed it.
It's nice to start with your own people and see how you can dominate the world. Sometimes you focus on expanding the culture of your people. The next time you choose a people that has bonuses when it comes to warfare. Each jar is therefore different. And before you know it you're on your iPad for a few hours and notice that your battery is as good as empty.
So much fun
On the one hand it is because Civilization VI is a decent attack on your battery, but on the other hand because you simply forget the time. There have been few games on the iPad that have so successfully managed to bring a PC or console experience. The game has a huge price tag compared to other games, but if you can get over it, then you have a game that can keep you entertained for many hours.
CONCLUSION
Civilization VI on the iPad is not cheap. But if you want to put the money for it (after you have been able to try 60 turns for free), you will get a fantastic experience in return. This is just a high end gaming experience on your iPad and is good for many, many hours of fun.
➕ Full experience
➕ That works well
➕ Every jar is different
