Have your mom or dad told you something like "What do you get from games? Stop playing and earn some real money!" Did they tell you something like that? Me? They do. Always.

I am a proud gamer and I played League of Legends tons of hours everyday with the minimum of 3 hours per day. We hone our skills and try to improve our gaming sense BUT we all know that we needed to earn somehow in some way. If there is a game where in we can play and earn at the same time, would that be great? Actually, it would be awesome! What if I tell you that there are games like that and I am not telling you to play something like Galaga and earn bitcoins, I am saying something like a real game like Warcraft, Starcraft, Command and Conquer, or Clash of Clans where in you can earn real money.

That is Chimaera.

Chimaera's goal is simple. To have a decentralized platform which makes you have both fun and funds. They intend to incorporate Play to earn system. As you play, you earn game resources that you can exchange for crypto which can then be changed into real money. To easier understood it, I would make an example.

Play to earn

Let's say we are playing Clash of Clans. Clash of Clans have 4 resources, gold, magic (the pink one), oil and gems. Besides gems, all three can be earned within the game. They are the main source of your upgrades to get more resources. If Chimaera would be applied, there would be corresponding amount to each resources. This would mean, as you increase your level, gain new upgrades for better resource management, you increases your income as well. This would be called Human Mining. You don't just play to have fun but also play and earn at the same time.

With this method, you would also don't need to spend too much in game. Like me, I want to have my games, stay as a game. What I mean is I want to play games that I only put little to no money and still play the game. You earn while you play so you can buy the premium items with the money you earn inside the game as well and that is just the better part.

The best part is there are actually games currently on development that applies Chimaera blockchain.Soccer Manager (Soccer Manager Crypto) and Treat Fighter from Tricky Fast Studios are doing it at the moment. According to Chimaera, there are 2 more development studios yet to be announced that are building Chimaera games.

BUT

I am already hearing those developers saying "would that mean less income for us?". NO! With this idea, there will be bound more players and also higher playing time. Why do you think Y8.com survived after all this years? Higher play / download rate means that more companies will start to sponsor and fund the next games that they will be releasing. Also I am just one of those few that do not want to spend on games. There are people that spend on them specially on "Popular Games". Since there would be more players that would play due to the earn to play incentives from Chimaera, games will be advertised thru word of mouth. A player saying "this game is awesome, you must try it" to another player is worth more than spending billions on TV and internet Ads that might not work. There would be more you can get from using the Chimaera engine and blockchain.

As of now, the Chimaera focuses on resource management games like warcraft, starcraft, oxygen not included and the same but if it became successful and started to gain popularity, it would be no doubt that mainstream games like League of Legends, Players Unlimited Battlegrounds, DOTA 2, CS GO and others would apply this as well. Think about gaming as future jobs. You do not need to be a professional gamer with sponsored teams or youtube or a streamer. Just simply playing at home would earn you money. Period!
