World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade - Review

in #gaming7 years ago

Today I'm going to be reviewing the first ever expansion for World of Warcraft. The Burning Crusade released in 2007 and sold 3.2 million copies in its first month, making it the fastest selling PC game ever. This game was also made imfamous by destroying my grade point average in the seventh grade.

New Races:
Introducing the Draenei & Blood elves. These new races allowed for the first time both horde & alliance to play as all of the classes. Draenei would be able to become shamans and Blood elves would become paladins. Each race comes equipped with their own unique racial ability.

Welcome to the Outland:
With a new expansion meant players can travel new maps that they have never seen before. Enter the dark portal, once going through the portal you would travel to the Outlands. A desolate area where war is waging and your faction needs your help! Illidan Stormrage is the main boss of this expansion, he has taken it upon himself to take control of outlands. Without your help his evil army will continue to pass through the dark portal taking over the good world.

A new level cap!
Up until this point the maximum level cap for World of Warcraft was 60. The Burning Crusades release allowed players to achieve level 70!

Awards:
Visual Effects Society Award 2008
Expansion Pack of The Year: Game Zone
IGN's Best Expansion Pack
Top 50 games of 2007: Eurogamer
PC Game of the Month: Game Informer

I would personally rate the Burning Crusade 5/5 stars!

Sort:

I was one of them prepurchases.. still remember going early in the morning with onw of my guild mates that ordered it from the same store I did. And it did fit perfectly since we had 10 days off of school because of a flu. Good memories, thanks foe getting me back in them! :)

Hell ya what server did you play on?

I used to play on Emeriss and had a lot of friends on Neptulon. I don't think the server even exists anymore.

not sure I remember those. I was on bloodscalp and thunderlord

Well I was playing on European servers, that is probably why hehe. There were no crossrealms at all when I started playing and there were only battle groups made out of 4 servers for pvp purposes in TBC.

Excellent expansion

I liked WOTLK better, but this one was pretty good.

I spent a year getting to level 60 and then they dropped this bullshit on me lol!

This was the best expansion !

When 5 man herois dungeon cannot be rushed... Good times !

Such a good time. I never got to far into this one because I was only 13 when it dropped. I pretty much only did Karazhan which was fun but I watched my brother do the rest of the raids.

Good expansion and excellent post

Thank you

Oh man, I have never played that game. I am so afraid to. I get into those types of games big time. Back in the day I used to play a similar game called Everquest and I got so ridiculously obsessed with it that I would wish for rainy days so I would not have to work putting up cable lines to stay home and play it all day. Looks amazing too.

Hah to funny everquest is bassically the same exact game. I haven't played WoW in years, too time consuming lol. When I was in highschool there were like fifteen of us who all played so it made for some good times.

Yeah it consumed tons of time. I had like 5 characters that where past level 35 on everquest including a 65 Ogre Warrior fully loaded and a 52 high Elf Wizard. I used to play on a PvP server, so it used to get pretty intense lol.

Pvp all the way, in WoW you could do rated 2v2 arenas that felt like a legit sport when you were good at it lol.

I dont even want to know lol. Must stay away hahahaha
