Destiny.

The infamous MMORPG the spawned another section of these type of games that revolved around space, planets, and an entirely new looting system. This game was all I ever played back when The Taken King expansion arrived and then following up with Rise of Iron. I can remember all the times I enjoyed on this game whether it was playing the challenging raids for the PVE or victoriously going flawless in Trials of Osiris in PVP.

Destiny was a brilliant follow up after Bungie finally letting go of Halo and starting their own series. This game was beautiful although it had it's many flaws, but what game doesn't?

After 2016's Rise of Iron expansion, (or better known as Year 3) the fanbase were hungry for more Destiny. When Bungie announced Destiny 2, (the game's sequel to the 2014 success of Destiny) us guardians were nothing but ecstatic to receive a new vanilla base game with a new story to follow what's next for the expanding universe that Bungie has created. Offering new super abilities for every class, and different routes to take in your own skill tree to fully optimize what you are setting out your character to be. Destiny 2 was going to be great... until it wasn't.

Destiny 2 had so MANY problems within the first month of launch. It wasn't the way they switched up the weapon system or even the ridiculously long wait times for new content. It was the way Activision controlled the game with Silver. Silver is a in game currency that you HAVE to buy to be able to do certain things or get certain items. If you wanted to flaunt your character, this was a way to do it. Buying every single expansion when the game itself was $60 alone just to have dlc drop within a month and a half's time for $30 only for a small expansion that didn't do anything but add 5 new story missions and one new part of a SINGLE raid. Activision's grip on this franchise was a terrible hold. One that I thought would never be let go of.

If you don't know who Activision is, then let's give a brief explanation.
Call of Duty. The company that almost forces you to buy COD points for in game items or even NEW weapons. They saw another opportunity to turn a lovable franchise with a great fanbase into a terrible and underwhelming cash cow of a video game riddled with $30 expansions.

But thankfully, Bungie and Activision split. Even if you did buy some of the emotes with your silver, most emotes will be taken away because of how evil Activision actually is with your money. They pretty much stole it at this point.

Ever since the split, Destiny 2 has been recovering and evolving into a game that is attracting the fanbase back, including ones who left within the first month because launch was AWFUL (Including myself). Forsaken was a step in the right direction. We are now coming onto YEAR 3 of Destiny 2, which is ShadowKeep. This will be Bungie's first big DLC expansion under this game without the grip of Activision's money scheme. Bungie even made the game FREE TO PLAY and I'm not even talking about the vanilla base game. All planets are free to explore and no more locked behind a small $30 expansion or $40 expansion. All strikes, PVP modes, and even the Raid Lairs are unlocked for new players and returning players. The YEAR 2 Expansion (Forsaken) has been reduced in price from $40 to $25 for a NEW COMPLETE EXPERIENCE that includes way MORE RAIDS and EXOTICS than before. To even step up their game, Bungie has allowed Cross Transfer saves, you can now transfer your xbox, pc, playstation, or battle.net characters to any platform INCLUDING STEAM.

Ladies & Gentleman, we got him.

Destiny 2 is making a comeback this year and I am nothing more but excited to hop back into it, even with the seasonal 2020 content. Bungie has a lot on their plate right now but expect crossplay within the coming months.

Anyways, that's all I have to say and get into about Destiny 2. If you guys don't mind, I do create content on my YouTube channel, so do me a favor and check it out !
