So after the calming game Stardew Valley, I see there are 3 farming games in the making that I don't know whether they are inspired by Stardew Valley or not, but either way these games looks promising. Although it would likely not as calming because of one feature that not many farming game have; monster training.

I can't remember one of the 3 games, but one of them is Ooblets, an adorable farming game inspired by Harvest Moon, Pokémon, and Animal Crossing where you are to establish your own farm while raising cute outfitable little monsters. And the other one that I'll talk about is called Re:Legend, an upcoming monster raising and farming game.

"Re:Legend is a monster raising focused RPG with features such as farming, fishing, crafting, village building, multiplayer and more on PC!"

Sounds cool, don't you think? It has almost anything we could hoped for from a monster raising/farming game and there's more to come. Well, except we are not hoping for the same thing..

These monsters that you'll tame is called Magnus, a mythical monsters with somewhat badass sounded name but are actually looks cute. These Magnus will help you in pretty much anything you do in the game such as farming, fishing, venturing, combat, and many more.

The Magnus will evolve depending on how you take care of them and by choosing how do you want them to evolve with the evolution branch feature to ensure each Magnus to be unique. But, the player are given the freedom to experiment with the evolution branch to see if you'll gain unexpectedly good results. And by raising your Magnus they will become more effective at whatever they do.

Okay so this game is more of a monster raising game more than farming, plus farming is one of the many activities the player(s) could do in this game, but still, farming is seems to be a 'big' focus in Re:Legend.

So let's take the farming, your Magnus will helping out on your farm with a more complex system than just letting them running around collecting fruits as you'll have to assign the right Magnus to the right part of the job. And you could have not only on land, but also a farm in the water!

One more big focus of the game is multiplayer. The multiplayer is more of a hosted game that consists up to four players. Because most of the features in Re:Legend are built around multiplayer, you can also manage your farm along with your friends and their Magnus too.

The character customization in Re:Legend looks pretty interesting. Say, you find an armour with neat stats but you don't like the appearance, you could simply equip a better looking one as a vanity to mask over the one with looks you don't like. And so, end the dillema of choosing between appearance and stats, and everyone lived happily ever after. THE END.

There is a goal, however. The player character have a story to unveil; You wake up on a shore of an island called Vokka Island with no memories and you are to regain your memories that are scattered throughout the land--the land of Ethia. But first, you'll need to learn how to live on the island.

That's where all the fun activities comes in, the farming, fishing, crafting, raising Magnus, battling hostile Magnusbe, friending the locals and recruiting more of them to expand the village, all the while to recover your memories fragment by fragment.

So we have two (and who knows how many more) upcoming monster collecting + farming games and both are adorable in their own way. Developed by Magnus Games LLP using Unity 3D, currently Re:Legend is on Kickstarter, planned to be available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2018.

There's not much to know yet about Re:Legend for me to write the usual "Fun Fact", but hey did you know that the developer is collaborating with the legendary Video Game Orchestra? They are the one behind the music of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Cytus, and more.
