Monster Hunter World preview - Explore the world

On the E3 earlier this year, Capcom announced, unexpectedly, a new Monster Hunter with Sony. Monster Hunter World was the title in question and it's coming to PlayStation 4. That's of course great news, because the franchise has been highly appreciated for years. On the gamescom, we were given the opportunity to start with this game for the first time and although there is still a lot of work on the store, this is exactly what you want.

Fight on it

Monster Hunter World is a game where you will fight against different monsters and that is in a nutshell. Does the game contain an extensive multiplayer? May we expect a story? What's new compared to previous parts? Ask all questions that you do not want to answer. Nevertheless, i was able to get well on one of the many maps that the game is soon rich to... beat monsters. If you know the franchise, you know of course something you can expect, but it seems that the surface may have little depth.

Do not be mistaken, however, because Monster Hunter World is a game in which hunting is central, but on the other hand, a good strategy also plays an important role. In the folder we were able to play, it was a matter of detecting and disabling a rather large dinosaur. Tracking was quite easy by analyzing footsteps, after which the path appeared to be self-evident. Once the sample was found, it was a matter of making this catch a little smaller, but of course we were free of chance. As an idiot runs out as we did is not by far the best idea, but it's certainly not impossible, and it's in a few things.

Be sure to fight with a random sample, whether you are doing a quest or not, is a very real option. The nuance is, however, that you can switch between outfits, weapons and extra funds in your base camp, and of course they are not equally suitable for each monster. It is therefore wise to take a close look at what is the best chance of success. A large, log and heavy sword can be very practical to turn off smaller enemies within a few counts, but such a big dino is of course another cake because it reacts much more powerful and faster. Then a set of two smaller swords is much more practical because you are more viable.

Explore the world

I just left the word: strategy. This is a very important part of this game. The mentioned option of the right weapons is found and the right to run has a chance of success, but it is actually more fun just to explore the world thoroughly to determine a strategy based on it. That means you need to know where you have an advantage over the enemy, how the monster moves, what its weaknesses and strengths, and so forth. Interestingly, the craft plays a rather big role, because the more efficient you use the resources available to you, the more creative the opportunities to get a sample.

Of course, think of the points you just have to keep in mind. Based on that, you can already think of a particular strategy. You can also make traps and put them in place so that you have done some damage and significantly reduce the chance of your own death. Using the environment is really an important aspect, and the developer actually sees that you have the entire folder in your mind so as to make optimal use of everything and turn the sample out as efficiently as possible. There is another look at it, namely that you are not necessarily bound to kill a monster. You can also choose to capture the sample. The advantage of this is that it will provide you with many more rewards.

Capturing another effect of a sample is that it affects the ecosystem of the game. Killing a larger sample means less risk to you. Capturing a sample is, however, again beneficial for life on the map in question, and it is also a consideration. How deep and how big the ecosystem's role really is, is awaiting a while, but it sounds very interesting at least. It's also fun that you can play the loose maps again and again for another experience, on the one hand, in the form of your approach and on the other hand in the form of quests that you receive.

The game also offers different maps, so it's not the case that you have a huge world at your disposal, as the title suggests. The maps are, however, of such size that are enough to discover them and you will have a different experience time after time. Within the ecosystem, the law is also the strongest, because it may just be that a monster you have to kill or catch in combat is with another monster once you find it. This gives you just another game of gameplay, because for the same money, after the fight, the monster is getting a lot worse, which again benefits you.

Preliminary conclusion

Monster Hunter World is playing in half an hour, especially a pretty deep game, and it is in the weapons, items, strategy and varied maps. At least, we need to see that one, as we only got one folder in the demo. On the other hand, you know something that you can expect from this franchise, and in that regard, this title fits well in the line of previous games. However, it may be visually still tight and the huge amount of graphical glitches requires some attention. Such a glitch here and there is not such a problem, but if you're completely in a monster while you're fighting it's pretty messy. In addition, Monster Hunter World appears to be a solid game.
