Bulletstorm

Welcome back fellow Steemians, it's that time of the week again, time for your weekly game review fix.

I'm always happy when it's the beginning of the month, well you guys and gals obviously know by now, because it's free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers day. So how it works is, the first Tuesday of each month you get some free games from the good folks at PlayStation, and for the annual fee of about $58, for two to sometimes three games each month for the whole year, it just so worth it. This month there was actually four games, two of which are big games and the other two more indie and arcade style games. Along with Bulletstorm, there was also Yakuza Kiwami, not really my cup of tea, as well as Burly Man at Sea which is an indie game that looks rather interesting, and lastly Roundabout a fun button smashing arcade game.

I basically just started the game, so I have only really touched on some parts and just gotten into the main story. It honestly feels like someone combined Doom with maybe like a much more ridicules version of Fortnite, and then ended up with this really over the top first person shooter. The only downside is that unfortunately this is not a multiplayer game, which just goes to show you how far technology has come in just a few years. On that note, interestingly enough this is actually a game from back in 2011, which last year, got a full graphics overhaul and has been remastered for the current game systems.

Our story this time takes place in the 26th century, where the universe is run by the Confederation of Planets.

Our protagonist is Grayson Hunt, who is the leader of Dead Echo, a black ops team under command of Star General Sarrano. The story starts when Sarrano orders the team to assassinate an alleged criminal, a man known as Bryce Novak, but it turns out that he is actually a civilian reporter, documenting civilian deaths caused by the Dead Echo team. Realizing they have been tricked by the devious Sarrano, Grayson and his team desert their leader and become space pirates on the run from Sarrano's forces.

The story then picks up ten years later when Grayson commands a ship with his old teammates, and comes across Sarrano's battlecruiser, the Ulysses near the planet of Stygia. In a drunken rage, Grayson attacks and rams the Ulysses, the ships collide and crash land on the surface of Stygia, critically wounding some of his team. In order to save the team, he needs to leave the ship to find an energy cell for the ship's medical equipment. This is where all the fun begins.

Bulletstorm is an all out action game, with probably a little bit more of a crass humor to it than you are use to.

What sets this game apart from the rest of your typical first person shooter, is that the main focus of the game is to see just how creative you can be with killing the bad guys. Players are rewarded with points for performing insanely ludicrous and creative kills, the more crazy you can pull it off the better score you will get. Bulletstorm somehow feels like a 3D version of the that old arcade game Heavy Metal, for those of you old enough to know what I'm talking about. When it comes to the mechanics, the leash is your go to gadget and used mainly for pulling enemies, as well as objects towards you. There are a variety of super cool firearms available, each with distinct behavior, from a pistols, to assault rifle's that shoot charged shots, to a cannon that shoots grenades. Everything you need to cause complete and utter chaos, it's definitely a shoot first and destroy everything that moves and then shoot some more kind of game.

"Okay. Fine. We were all dead men anyway, dead for years now. Just needed to do this one last thing. Just had to make sure we didn't go to hell alone, General. I'm gonna take you... take every mother f@%king last one of you with us. And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell. Ten fathoms deep, on the road to hell." - Grayson Hunt

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a fun game that has been beautifully remastered to meet the graphic requirements of a 2017 first person shooter.

The humor does sometimes seem a little forced and at times cringy, but I have a chuckle or two. There is almost no difference to the story from the original game, so if you have already played this, please don't buy this one hoping for something new. I personally would not go and buy this, well other than it still being a 2011 game, there is just too much to choose from these day, and everything still coming. My biggest problem these day is actually just trying to find the time to play all the games, so it usually comes down to rather allocating that potential game time with newer games. Luckily this was a free game and if you made that decision long ago to get a PlayStation you have this for free too, or kind of free you are paying for the subscription at the end of the day. Please go try it out and let me know your thoughts on the game, or let me know if you played the original 2011 game and how that was.

Bulletstorm is a 2011 first-person shooter video game developed by Polish developer People Can Fly and the American company Epic Games.

For those of you who don't know, the developers People Can Fly in co-development along with Epic Games, were the good people behind the Gears of War series Fortnite, which you have probably been hearing a lot about lately. Bulletstorm is published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows way back in 2011. The game was then re-released in April 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam for PC.

I give Bulletstorm a rating of 6.5/10

The game really turned out very dynamic and fun. You cannot think of anything better if you want to get a lot of fun and fun, and not crawl like a cockroach on the walls and squeeze in the corners of every enemy bunch. Here we ourselves spoil the air, opening doors with kicks and showing who the boss in the house is. You need to play this game with the appropriate mood. Therefore, if you are a lazy and gloomy, incapable of perverted killing gamer - this game is definitely not for you. Unfortunately, in general, it was not without jambs and bugs, but as practice shows, so far without them. For example, in some places when rolling, our hero cannot stop and continues to ride on his ass, knocking everything in his path, not paying attention to whether he rolls or slides down the hill. Severe guy ... The plot of the game as a whole does not shine beyond originality, but it does not constitute a garbage can either. Graphics at the level and causes only positive emotions. In addition, these same emotions appear listening to the sounds of the surrounding landscapes and the dialogues of our team. Music cannot boast of such things. Here the score is nothing more than "Good." Finally, the multiplayer is able to delay for long hours, but only on the condition that you are going to play it with friends and entertain yourself well.

Couldn't agree more, it's sometimes just very relaxing cause complete and utter chaos.

In truth, I have not entered the world of video games; I do not belong to that generation, but I have observed on several occasions some of them and how they are able to create in their followers the extreme emotion that often turns them into fans of their products. I admire -even perplexity- in their creators and works the manipulative capacity of human psychology, which they achieve through the techno-audiovisual concretion of that fascinating and fantastic world, full of destructive energy, violence and, sometimes, with triumphs of Good. Thank you for presenting us this product: "Bulletstorm" with such care and attractive post, @MorkRock.

I loved Bulletstorm. Grizzled muscle men making people go BOOM and SPLAT always peaks my interest for the wrong reasons but its point mechanic made replays an enjoyable must and its humor was top notch. I still call people sushi d**k to this day because of it plus it has Steve Blum, its damn golden. So I've been patiently waiting for a sequel since '11 but honestly if the original sales numbers weren't enough to garner one why would a $60 upgrade that offers largely nothing new?

This should be an interesting game to play as its an action packed game. I haven't played it and i am happy to have it been reviwed by you, i should look for the game and played it.

As the name bullet storm implies, i want to believe it has the latest weapons its gallary for perfect enjoyable screen. @morkrock i have been waiting for this review i am happy it came will visit a game shop by the week and see if its available here where i am.

Thank you.

Hello, @morkrock, the review you've made of this game seems to me very useful for all video game fans and to let them know what they're going to find in it. I confess that I have never played one of this type. It's a naval battle, there are a lot of weapons, shots. I think the graphical interface is very striking, the characters look very real, according to the photos you published. I think the score you gave it is fair so you explained that it's a 2011 game that was only remastered, but there were not many changes. I don't know if someday I can know about this and play them. Greetings.

Regarding your previous posts on video games, I was motivated to play some of them. I tried it with one called Fortnite, a video game that belongs to the survival and open world genre. I really loved it! I used to be denied those action and half dystopian games! But now I've changed my mind or at least I'm not as closed as I was at the beginning. From what you say Bulletstorm reads interesting. The fact that you fight against your opponents, try to survive longer and try to get the victory has its adrenaline sure, and if it has its touch of humor, better, not to mention, that, as you say, you earn more points if you are creative when using your weapons. What worries me is the score you gave him: 6.5/10? Then it doesn't seem to be so good! A hug for you, @MorkRock, and greetings to the @adsactly team.

In my defense and I also have mentioned this a few times, I try give an honest personal review and score of the game. Obviously the experience is very subjective, there has been a few times my personal rating is the opposite of what reputable gaming publisher rate a game, but the game companies are not paying me to say nice things.

I actually have this one but completely forgot about it. I think I'll have to dig it up and give it another go

The game didn't sell well, that's why it was remastered. They want to know if there is an interest in this universe to warrant a sequel. So can people stop saying "who asked for this", because you're missing the point. If you want a sequel than I'd advise picking this up at some point

It could be worth a sequel, obviously sales from this would determine that, but I haven't seen anything planned.

I think it's so fine game. I like gaming. Gaming is entertainment.

great game i like all your great post @adsactly
This game suggests strength, technology, destruction and sophistication in the field of technological warfare techniques
great post
