Games that really piss me off: Mirror's Edge

I have been told time and time again that this game is great, and for some people I really think it is. I am clearly not one of those people.
Story:
About a "runner" someone who runs information and items between parties in a 1984-esque universe. Faith, the runner in question, gets caught up in a government plot/conspiracy thing. Blah Blah onward. To be quite frank the story is bland and forgettable for the most part. I would recommend skipping the cutscenes anyways.
Art:
bland by design. It represents a world of hyper censorship well and the motif of red is actually clever as a sign of what I would assume to be freedom. Everything else feels a bit overexposed and hard to look at.
Mechanics:
Ooh boy lemme tell you how much I hate these. You will randomly grab onto a railing to hang from them like a foot over the ground and are unable to jump off. You have to shuffle at senior citizen speeds to the end to get off. The hitboxes for the vertical pipes especially are downright goofy. Nine times out of 10 you will sail right past them to your death despite the fact that they were within breathing distance. You have to jump far earlier than would be intuitive sometimes to make sure you actually jump instead of vault and fall. I can go on about all the dumb crap that absolutely ruins the free running, but you get it.
Combat is another sack of trash. The final punch in the combo animation locks you for a solid 2 seconds. Have fun dying from this. A lot.
Game design Sin:
Autosaves before cutscenes. Grrrrr I mean c'mon who thought that was a good idea?
I'm not a big platform guy, at least not after Mario 64 (after which I swore I'd never play another platformer - to be fair I did get all 150 stars so.... yeah).
Mirror's Edge is one of those games I keep meaning to play. I'm sure if I did I'd love it (I played a demo and liked it pretty thoroughly), but it is pretty funny to see someone with the opposite opinion.
Oh I bet it is fantastic for most, just the getting robbed of the easiest jumps makes me so irrationally angry.
Did you passed SM64 all stars? you're a pro man, I'm your best fan. When I was a child I just get to the 60 stars, but if I try it now it's sure I will get more, anyway, didn't know Mirror's Edge had a demo XDD
Yup got all of them. Can't remember if my Mirror's Edge game that I played was a demo or on someone else's console. I just remember playing it briefly.
I'll research it... -2 minutes later- yes, it does have, so it's perfectly logical you had played it

Oh man, chill out. I have never read about a man hating so much a jumping game. But anyway, that's your opinion, and I respect it, even I haven't played it, so I can't say a word. I give you an upvote, because I did like that you said your opinion in a professional review, with its structure and all the thing, and I want more of that in here, so please continue, I'll be following you :)
Lol I am amping up the anger for comedic sake, but I have slammed my desk a few times after missing stupid jumps. I appreciate that you enjoyed it and there are reviews every day
I've tried but never succeeded, it is very difficult game.
With effort you can do whatever you want ;)

To be honest, I remember the first one being awesome, but after playing the newest one, I'm wondering what I was thinking. The game feels awful to play, and nothing is as smooth as it should be. The art design and music also makes me dissociated and that makes it really hard to play. No thanks! Upvoted!
