Our first development of the year is getting General Heinz Guderian to improve and indoctrinate our troops in the methods of the Blitzkrieg!
To win the upcoming war we must not only focus in Germany but we must also focus on uniting other nations with sympathies to our cause! And our first move will be getting close to the Japanese Empire!
After numerous unsuccessful attempts of getting closer to the allies, Poland has decided to create their own faction to unite the Polish, the so called "In Between Seas" alliance is nothing more than a pebble on the Reich's path to total conquer of Europe, they will be eventually dealt with.

Barcelona is finally under control of Franco's Spain! Now our small retinue of troops aiding Franco will be heading south to support the siege of Madrid and bring down the communist "republicans" once and for all!
On the 16th of May German and Spanish Troops managed to retake Spain's Capital of Madrid, the fall of the Spanish Republic is at hand!
With the Spanish Republic capitulation at hand, the dead count so far in this civil war is around 300k soldiers! 128k from Franco's Spain and 166k from Republican Spain! We make em commies bleed harder!

To improve our Blitzkrieg tactics and increase our chances of quickly winning any war declared on or declared by the German people, we have brought General Erwin Rommel into the Reich's Military High Command!
The treaty of Murcia was signed on June 18th, ending the Spanish civil war and bringing all of Spain under Franco's control.
With the Spanish war under control, the time for furthering German interest in central Europe has come, the time to reintegrate our Austrian brothers into the German Nation has come! The Anschluss of Austria has begun!
The French Communist Maurice Thorez has taken control over most of Metropolitan France and her colonies, starting the French civil war! What an unexpected turn of events! Will France join the Comitern?
After months of planning and colluding with the Austrian Nazi party, we where able to take control over Austria and integrate them into the German Reich! Another victory for the Reich in Europe!
And so, the year ends. With the face of Europe changing forever, the French Communist taking over France, Franco's Victory in Spain and the Annexation of Austria by the German Reich. The world is getting ready for a pretty different World War II... Will the Allies manage to remain relevant in the upcoming years if France falls to the Communist?

I have always wanted to play these grand strategy games. I have EUIV but can't seem to put in the effort to go through the learning curve
I have to say, I do love this game. But once I learned how to cheat, I couldn't stop cheating...

So France is experimenting with Sovietization and Poland thinks they can stand up to both you and Russia with just a few tiny footnotes-of-countries as allies? Good stuff, be interesting to see what bizarro 1938 has in store.
Silly Poland thinks it can stand up to us! I also wonder what craziness 1938 will bring, i will try to build a strong Axis before declaring any wars, but if France goes full commie, i might have an easier time dealing with the allies!
Versus a bigger risk of a two-front-war not on your terms as in 1914, should the Communintern decide to strike just as your paratroopers are deploying over parliament.
But maybe I've played too much 3 and had Russia break the pact as I'm launching Sea Lion.
