You're way ahead of people who aren't even trying!

Sometimes it can be hard to keep our goals in sight.. To keep our eyes on the prize.

Chasing after our loftiest goals is challenging.. That's kind of the point.

The point is to set goals that are impossible to achieve in your current state and conditioning.

Then, you work hard towards becoming what you need to become in order to achieve those goals.

“No matter how bad or slow things go, you're still way
ahead of everyone who isn't even trying.” Tony Robbins

Most people aren't even setting goals. The ones who are setting goals are usually not putting in the work every day to achieve those goals.

That leaves only a select few who actually set proper goals and then do the work to become who they need to become in order to achieve their goals.

If you do that and become the select few, then no matter how much you struggle and how far away you feel that you are, you will always be ahead of nearly everyone else.

Success is overcoming failures and trials. It's about pursuing your goal relentlessly without allowing anyone or anything to get in your way.

Great read, straight to the point. I think lots of us have some kind of plan in mind, it's not that we don't, or maybe it was just how i saw it in the past. But for a few years ive had ideas in my head and have made baby steps towards them but found that i never had time, too many hours with my job, trying to maintain a social life there was always something in the way. I realised 7 months ago that these were valid to some degree but excuses ultimately as i was not actively doing anything to change that situation either. So i have left management and now work 3 days a week instead. Freeing my time up to achieve certain things i have set out to for ages. Yes it means im worse of financially for a while, but sometimes you have to make a sacrifice to make room for what you really want!

I totally agree @gallerani. I have a one year, five year, and ten year plan. Most people do not even have a one week plan. When I ask people "where do you see yourself in 5 years?," few if any have any concrete answers. Many times it is vague things like "happy" or "financially secure". Having a plan is the best way to get to your dreams. Consider it a map. Traveling without a map in hopes of getting to Los Angeles is practically impossible. Our life’s journey is no different. As you grow and change, you can always change your plans and life goals as well. It is not as if your plans are chiseled in stone.

This is some really good advice! I've had a couple of years now where the end of the year is here and im like jesus i havent achieved anything, i havent really been anywhere, I had a stark realisation about 7 months ago that i had not even finished a book for a few years. And i was miserable. I've been setting some goals and am starting to formulate a plan for next year, of places i want to visit, not even abroad just locally that ive never been to! What i want my diet to shape into, what hobbies i want to partake, what books i want to read. I even have a plan now for steemit after coming on here in August and just using it as escapism essentially. Now i am aiming for 5 comments a day (not just random, actually finding something I want to respond to) and 2 bloggs a week. Even that has helped. But yes my self currently I am one of those who if you asked where do i see myself 5 years from now i would shrug my shoulders. I will be taking what you've said seriously! Thankyou

Give it 6 months and you will be shocked the difference it will make.

I am counting on it :)

Hi @clayrawlings,
Rightly said planning should always be there to reach our desired goal.
Thanks.
