Creative Homestead Heart for #fundition & @projectgiving

in #fundition6 years ago (edited)

Good evening Steem fam!

I am inspired by @raj808 to take part in @funditian's Contest of the Month-- (see his post here) which asks us to create an inspired heart design!

Here are the other participation rules from their post:

  • Use two tags on the Steemit post consisting "fundition" and "oneheart"
  • Resteem this post so the others can see
  • Write down a short description about the photo in the post
  • Comment your post to know that you participated
  • Only one entry per person
  • The image has to contain the "Fundition.io" text written on a paper, wall or whatever is handy for you and depends on your creativity you have a chance to get a bigger upvote. (Keep in mind we don't approve/support illegalities like writing with graffiti on public buildings or other things like that. Stay Creative and Clean)
  • Add in your entry post the Participation rules and a link to the original contest post from Fundition

Recently I've become a part of Project Giving, which is Steemit's first NGO. I highly recommend that you check out & follow their page @projectgiving. It's one of the most inspiring things I've connected with on the Steem blockchain.

Like Raj, we're also inspired to use vegetables to convey our interpretation of Fundition's heart logo!

(It's also what we have most of!)

Without further ado, here is our entry into this month's @funditian contest:

We made the heart out of potatoes we dug from our garden and clipped zinnia flowers :) It's been a busy summer for us on the homestead and we have a lot of vegetables we're eating daily. This seemed appropriate!!

@Fundition is a next-generation, decentralized, peer-to-peer crowdfunding and collaboration platform on the Steem blockchain!

Tomorrow we will be sharing another episode of our Permaculture Hour on the Global Homesteading Collective's (GHSC) Discord. Last week we had our intro show and this week, we're starting with the first out of 12 Permaculture Principles.

Tomorrow's Episode will focus on the Principle:

Observe and Interact

This is one of my favorite principles and really, in my opinion, one of the most important.

After the episode airs on the GHSC Discord (click here to join), I will also be sharing this initiative as a part of Project Giving which seeks to educate and support sustainability efforts the world round. We @mountainjewel are so excited to be a part of this initiative, which we got connected to through the #sndboxsummercamp. We're not only thankful for all of those at @projectgiving who have been developing and supporting this idea for some time, but also for @sndbox for encouraging us all to use our time on the Steem blockchain for something bigger than ourselves.

@fundition is also up to supporting inspiring initiatives that help make the world a better place and @projectgiving has also had its initiatives supported through the #fundition efforts. It reinforces the belief that when we come together we can do great things!

So thankful to be a part (heart!)!

Here are some more flowerpower pics from the homestead that I took today! Growing our own food and beauty is one of the most sustainable acts that humans can be a part of.

So much in this post...you guys always put out quality content. Love the flower pics. Waiting to here more on Observe and Interact and if you are able record it - fingers crossed here :)

thanks steven for honoring us, which it seems you have a habit of doing!!!! we're glad you're on steemit and showing up daily with your generous presence. if you're not able to join the show live tomorrow, we're practicing for the recording aspect, fingers crossed here too! not necessarily a tech-family, so we hope everything goes as planned (but it is planned to be recorded!!). thanks for your sincere and kind interest <3

Awesome entry ❤ it always makes me happy to see your blogs! You're awesome Steemians @mountainjewel Much Love 🌅

awww you are literally the sweetest @yogajill!! always appreciate getting a message from you, sweetheart. thanks for your constant support, encouragement and being in the world, which is a healing force unto itself! muah! xoxo

What a fantastic entry. You are so artistic with your fundition heart. Also, it seems fitting to me that a heart for crowd funding and charity on the blockchain should be made up of sustainable homegrown food... but then I'm already a convert to the grow-your-own lifestyle. Yesterday I got apples, rhubarb and a big load of green beans. I had bean fritters/pakora for dinner and rhubarb/apple pastries for desert. Gonna make a recipe post about the pakora later. Good to see you made it into the fundition comp @mountainjewel 🙂

<3 thanks Raj! hahah we're both totally converts! so often sustainability comes down to food, and rightfully it should as we do it every day! it's empowering for humans.

Yummy! happy to hear of your yields and of your delicious dinners- will check for that pakora post now!

I couldn't agree more mountainjewel. The whole process of growing takes on a further personal significance for me living in the city with the soul and spirit of a nature flowing through me deep down. I often find myself stilted spiritually in the city and the escape into a quieter, wilder place at the allotment is something I don't think I could do without if I'm honest. I wrote a post about how my connection with writing helps me center myself/find presence today but equally important is finding connection with the green and growing. Anyway, time to cook up some more produce for dinner 🙂

Mmmm beautifully said! you gave me the chills <3 feeling you, i so get this! enjoy your dinner :D

Cool entry! The zinnias made a nice color burst.

Love your close-up of the cock's comb flower.

thanks dear! lovin' those zinnias and the cockscomb comes back year after year. loving the yellows, pinks, reds and oranges all over the property :)

You mean the zinnias and cockscombs are volunteers, year after year? Wow! I've never had zinnias come up on their own here. This year is the first I grew cockscomb and they aren't doing very well. :((

this is my first year growing zinnias, i will let some of them reseed (and save the other seed) to see if they'll come back! yes cockscomb reseeds quite easily here. curious why yours aren't making it- what doesn't seem to be flourishing about them?

Planted late, most likely, and torrential rains since then. It seems I tried them many years ago and didn't have much luck then either.

Loved this edible entry!! I am really hoping to be able to tune in and listen to your show tonight. I am chanting to the internet gods to please allow it. ♥

:) thanks!! hahah no worries. we also recorded it! https://soundcloud.com/user-362504203 hope you're well!
