"Jabba" Frogs
It's easy to see why these frogs have been nicknamed after the rather portly character from star wars.
They are seriously round and it gets even worse when the fill themselves up with air, when threatened, to appear larger. In that process they may even emit squealing sounds.
This is a seriously odd frog as far as frogs go.

They are called rain frogs since they are found in drier parts of Southern Africa and spend many month inside their burrows.
They only come out on the rare occasions when it rains to gorge themselves on insects.
My sons used to bring these little guys home to look after for the school holidays. Their Biology and science teacher had a collection of critters that would be rotated out to various students that displayed sufficient interest and care.

I remember my fourth-grade science teacher doing the same thing. She had a lot of animals in her classroom, and we could sign up to take care of them over breaks.
Yea, we had all kinds of animals (besides the kids) "boarding" at our house as a result...
Haha, yeah our two boys are a couple of monkeys that we can't give back after a holiday break!
