The Fresh Five for Feb 8th! New Steemians you should get to know!
Welcome to The Fresh Five!
Hi, I'm Adam and I'll be introducing new and exciting Steemians to the community. The Fresh Five account was set up by Mike, who'll be working towards creating and administering Fresh Five competitions and contests to help kick start our brand new friends and get them involved in the community.
So, now that you know what it's all about, let's get on with it!
Here's our Fresh Five for the 8th of Feb!
To kick us off, we have David who is studying Petroleum Engineering at the Federal University Of Uyo, Nigeria. David shared his life story in his intro post, which was a little heart-breaking. His dad was killed when he was little by his uncle in order to inherit some property. That's so brutal. He and is mum are super close, and she sounds like an amazing woman.

Next we have Cintia who is French and lives near the Seine. She's definitely enthusiastic, she's resteemed nearly 30 posts in the 8 hours she's been here. Love it. She claims to be a not-very-smart computer expert and she loves holidays. She wants to share ideas on Steem, which is awesome because that's what we're all about!

Our Fresh Five middle child is Taner who is an engineer from Turkey. He loves crypto and the Steem coin is one of his favourites... so why not try to earn some more Steem with some killer posts. He had a rough marriage and finds he wants to write. We're here for you man!

We'd love to introduce Clinton who wrote his intro in an awesome poem. Apart from writing absolutely amazing words, he loves photography and we absolutely can't wait to see what he produces for us all!

Lastly we have Amaha who lives taking nature photos in Europe and Russia. This is an amazing intro photo! He's super keen to create content for us around crypto and computer games... so that should be super fun.

Please whats blockchain about?
Blockchain is the technology that cryptocurrency runs on.
You know Visa and Paypal and Mastercard? Those systems run on big databases held by those companies. If those companies fail then everyone loses their money (or the debt). Blockchain however, runs on thousands of people's computers, and those people get paid a little slice for helping out.
Steem uses blockchain technology... so it runs on the top 20 witnesses computers... so if any of those 20 people have a computer problem, the next person just steps right in.
