.....***....

His friends aren't much, he loves playing alone, immediately he comes back from school and greet his mom in the kitchen and makes way for his room turned hut, his private cell, shutting the door immediately after.

"Bonny...... Bonny", his mum called out.
The young lad has his earpiece on and the music of coolio-gangster paradise was playing so loudly, books happens to be his most trusted companion but delving lately into books that tampers with the minds has started to please him. Bonny was five feet tall and has some muscles in his body enough to scare of any bully. His academic smartness sets him high too. No bully will want to beat the same guy whom he might need help from in the exam time.

The fact that Bonny didn't open the door as his mother called gave way for his aunt, Lucy to come for the door, banging it harder but the boy has changed the stereo to a rock n roll thing, vibrating every aspect of his ear drum, kids of his age just don't care about consequences. They knew and we all do that they can easily get away with them. His mum being the meek type called his attention using the latest form, calling his cell phone, it was the call that brought Bonny to sense that he's needed. Jumping up to open the door and seeing Aunty Lucy readily waiting with eyes as wild as a Lion and lips ready to utter the most vile of all words. Aunty Lucy didn't disappoint, he brought Bonny to his knees with words and didn't care for the psychological damage he's doing to the boy. Giving names of all sort and remembering the boy how his dad left his mom and never returned.
"Aunty Lucy, that's enough now." Bonny begged her.
"Why will a boy in his right mind grow deaf to his parent for just no reason. Just tell me why"
"I don't know mum was calling me, I mistakenly forgot the earpiece on" the boy lied, he enjoyed music far too much to trade it with mum's calling for a helping hand in the kitchen. Trading his enjoyment for a morsel of bread is not worth it.
Aunty Lucy's reply came with deep gush of fury, "I can see you're stupid, to have let your mum shout on top of her voice for help before you can come out, only a bastard son do that, the likes of your father, only those kind of people do that thing".

Bonny bowed his head, trying to find a final statement he will utter that will save him out of the whole situation, aunty Lucy has been known to find answers to every question thrown at her, even if she can't, she always resort to abusive words, so much in a way has to let yourself to blame.
For Bonny, its just a thing of a walk over, to his aunt, it’s a battle she was ready to undertake for just no reason, Bonny has tried countless times to avoid the trouble loving sister but to no avail, aunty Lucy isn’t going to let him go either as she stand akimbo with both hands resting of the wall entering the room, her eyes were going from white to red, she was more than ready for this, Bonny should have asked his mom how Aunty Lucy use to fight back then in school, he didn’t know either that she has been credited to have beat to pulp two set of guys while in her college days, every part of her body looks more like a macho man than a flimsy blushing lady you can make to blush while you woo her. The muscle at the back of her legs were enough for Bonny to parade himself as the king of boys, if traded, if he would have it, girls would be flocking round him. Bonny couldn’t stop thinking while staring at the goliath in front of him, if a single word will make her go, he will kindly go to the end of the world to find it, if it is a sentence, cool, bonny will find it, but her standing there shows she’s there for one single thing, fight.

“Am sorry, so sorry, I didn’t know mom was calling me” bonny finally chickens out of the fight. There are better ways to kill a mosquito resting gently on your crouch.

Aunty Lucy wasn’t going to have that for she came for more and pushed Bonny’s head to the back with full force, making him tilt backward like a released pendulum bulb in a periodic experiment. Bonny found his balance and still looked down, a sign of respect to an elderly. Aunty Lucy wanted more and she wants it at all cost. Came for bonny once again and did more pushing, sending the young lad to the floor, his mom heard the big fall while in the kitchen but the reason she is yet to respond to the bullying going under her roof is still unknown to everyone. She kept on her cooking. The non-retaliatory act from Bonny isn’t a result of cowardness, far from it, the culture doesn’t permit or encourage such act. Women are still considered as a weaker vessel and sometimes they misuse this opportunity by abusing it. Bonny knew better that if he ever decide to fight back, her sister would shout out at the top of her voice how bonny was beating her, this act is common among mothers when they are beating their children, each time the kid tries to withstand or escape the beating the mother takes it as retaliation. Bonny was on the floor while his barren troublesome sister pounds on him for nothing and his mother lays quiet in the kitchen, pouring the boiling meats into the cooked stew, enjoying the sweet smelling aroma oozing out of the pot. The bitterness of heart has caused her to neglect the cry for mercy, even to the detriment of her own child.

“Mummy, mummy, mummy” bonny cried out because the abuse was getting too much.
“Next time” hitting him heavily with a blow, “next time, when your mom calls you, you answer her, don’t be a bastard” finally sending a heavy blow into his stomach. Causing some injuries inside the weak boy. When it looks as if she has had her own fill of taking revenge for her sister, the mother of the boy, she stood up and left, leaving the boy in pain. Bonny wanted to cry but the tears just refused to come out leaving him to wringle in pain and turning on the floor like a stoned snake. He lies there for few minutes and heard his mum’s call again.

No one need to tell him that he needs to stand up.
“Ma, am coming” he managed to sprang up, causing lots of pain to the twisted intestines as he bent himself straight and made for the door. Aunty Lucy was right there, waiting for him, just in case he didn’t come out so fast. Bonny was saved by grace to have disaapointed her. He bent a little while walking past her to show she realy did some damage, the unrepentant sister doesn't sees it that way, her gesture was portraying a home trainer, a Nanny Mcphee. Just few steps to the dinning he dragged the chair closer to himself, his mum looked at him the first time and couldn’t believe if it was the beating or Bonny was exaggerating things, she looked closely, possibly to see him laughed a little to show her he was joking or maybe not too serious an injury. But no sign of such on the boy face. So everyone settled for the meal. Lucy walked in on the dinning table with pride and tilt Bonny’s head again, laughing as she does that, no one found it funny as she walked past to grab her food.

The little bonny kept quiet as each morsel of the food began to take longer to chew, though they do eat peppery food but this one wasn’t easy to take it. Gushing out and spewing everything on the floor for the stomach can take it no more, aunty Lucy jumped up to scold him once more but founf Bonny not breathing, his mum stood up after few secomd of watching the devilish short drama and became concerned, not knowing Bonny’s spirit was far gone from here.
