The smell from within - 5 MINUTE FREEWRITE
"You have to let go of everything" the mentor started "let go of today, and let go of yesterday, let go of tomorrow."
Suzy closed her eyes and begun to relax while listening to his soft words that had a calming effect on her. She was breathing deeply inhaling love and exhaling gratitude. With each breath, she gently pushed her shoulders back and stomach front trying not to move her chest.
"Relax your mind, and relax your body..." the mentor continued "Breathe deeply and slowly."
Suzys body started to listen and relax more and more with each word the mentor said. Everything in her begun filling up with love and light.
"Now imagine you are filled with lavender, let it expand through your whole being..."
"Feel the lavender becoming a part of you, feel it deep inside you..."
Suzy was not feeling her legs or arms, she had no human body, only lavender. Sweet and gentle lavender whose smell started spreading through her every cell.
This was my entry for the freewrite challenge organized by @mariannewest, the theme was "the smell from within" and the only rule was to set a timer for 5 minutes and write until the time runs out. Lovely. I found myself slowing my breathing as I read. It's so hard to be present in the moment with all that goes on in our lives. That's why I love meditation so much. That feeling you get just afterwards...
Meditation is crucial for me staying sane in this world :) Thank you for stopping by and reading.
Wow, I've got to try meditation, you've really sold it to me in this eloquent freewrite. Thank you @zen-art
Try it, you won't regret it, trust me :)
I will, any recommendations on how to start??
Sit in a comfortable position, or lay down. Don't have any expectations, just set your intention on relaxation and breathe, just breathe and follow your breath in and out. When your thoughts start to wander off just gently return them on your breath. Try to do this for several minutes and it will be a good start for you. Good luck!
Thanks, I will certainly give it a go...
I love how you filled every cell with lavender - love the scent!
Thank you 💚
This is a beautiful exercise. I've never really meditated, but I've read about it. I spend time in prayer and I get some of the same results that I read here. But it sounds wonderful! Great job of the prompt!
If you think hard of being filled of lavender you will become a lavender drawer perfume, did you know it?
🤣
I would imagine myself as one of those lavender sacks for perfuming drawers :-P Very nicely written, I love meditation, it helps a lot in martial arts.
I was sleeping in my cosy and red velvet upholstered coffin, down in the basement of the Old Steemian Home, when Marianne West knocked on the lacquered cover and whispered to me today’s prompt delicacies!
