      The Start of the Story

"Pull the plug already!" Gary growled.

"I can't," Jody whimpered.

"Stop holding onto hope when there's nothing left." His head dropped to hands as he leaned against the metal wall.

Jody looked towards the bathtub. Sitting amongst the bubbles floated her favorite bubble bath bottle that had been knocked over where the contents had flowed freely into the old, lukewarm water from their son's bath.

"But if I pull the plug, then it's really all gone...I can never get it back."

Gary tramped against the wooden floor towards the bathtub determination etched into his eyes.

"No!" Jody yelled throwing herself in front of him.

"Take one more step and you'll never get to plug this ginger again, Gary!" Jody yelled, her finger in his face.

Gary turned and walked outside, he couldn't understand the infatuation Jody had with that bubble bath.

Jody picked up the empty bottle and just stared at it, remembering the day her mother gave it to her.

It was on her thirteenth birthday, it was her mother's favorite scent.

Jody has taken a bubble bath on her birthday, ever since.

Jody's mother died the day after her thirteenth birthday, in a boating accident, and everytime she used that bottle, it reminded her of her mother.

Just then, Gary walked into the house carrying two antifreeze jugs and two jugs under his arms.

A big smile grew across Jody's face, as Gary started filling the jugs with the bathwater.

"I so love you honey!" Jody whispered in his ear.
