Is where dreams were made by the lad and lass,
Told to the seed heads then taken above, on the wings of a dove.
They built their homestead, and there they wed.
Four children were born, their oldest named Ted.
The meadow of dreams is where they buried the dead.
It is said, that the seed heads dry up and all turn red,
Every year of their death, when they took their last breath.

What a great poem, Whatisnew! The lovely story of the dreams of the lad and the lass playing out only to end so sadly is so well written. Then to have the seed heads turn red on the anniversary of their deaths? Excellent, my sweet friend!
I am so happy that you enjoyed this poem. Your kind words mean a lot coming from you brisby! Hugs!
Just like old times to have you reading and commenting. We had so much fun back then but things sure have changed. It isn't much fun anymore and it has shown in my writing. No more funny rhymes and stories. I hardly ever get comments on my freewrite posts anymore and they are mostly from a prompt deliverer and when I don't get any comments at all, (not even from a deliverer) I find that to be so embarrassing and makes me want to stop writing here. Oh well. Like I said...things sure have changed. : (
haha! howdy there Butterfly! Very creative writing here, I like that! Grass does indeed turn red when it gets rust on it, actually a rust fungus, it turns rust and red colors. I just hope you have a chance to see some grass up there soon!
Howdy jonbiy! I never knew about the rust fungus and I am glad you told me about it. I forgot what grass looked like in person. I hate that 4 letter word s**w!
Howdy again Butterfly! You hate that four letter word and you forgot what grass looks like in person. Wow that is a sad state of affairs. Are you sure you have to live that far North? I mean, that doesn't seem to be a good fit in your current condition and situation! I'm going to start mowing this week.
Creepy cool :) Hope I never come across grass that turns red, lol.
Thanks my friend! "Creepy cool" is a first for me. : ) I hope you never see grass that turns red but if you do, think of me. LOL!
Lol, my exact thought. :) Glad I'm not the only one trying to get into poetry. :)
Yearly, the grass turns red at the particular season - that - is an interesting scene for me. :)
Glad you found that interesting. And thanks for the prompt delivery! : )
