#freewriting - It is it!

HERE you can read what happened earlier.

"One gets used to it", she said, "it is not that I am addicted to it, but it is the kind of life I live now.
So it would be nice if you would give some support instead of lecturing me."
She felt miserable and had no intentions keeping up appearances again.

"You are my BFF, you know what he did to me, what it did cost me to escape. You said I could make any trip, any time. Well this is what I want, what I need for me. Space-time, one with nature itself."
She knew she was not completely honest, but she needed the stuff to go back.
She could no longer ignore what she wanted...needed. After her last travel she read some books about what they say it is. Dangerous, an animal, a killer, not human.

"I will pay you... please help me, I really, really need this trip."

Her friend knew that if she decided to help out again there was no way back.
She knew those who ate it would stay in the other world, the world they created themselves. It was not the first time this did happen and it wouldn't be the last time. She never told her friend everything about herself, her life either. Her real age for example. She would not believe her anyway if she did so.

They sat at the dining table, did not say a word. Both had a lot to think about.

"Do you love it", she asked.
Her friend nodded, not able to speak. She looked lost. It was clear life over here would never be the same again. This world already lost her.
"Before I help you, you need to tell me what you did during your trip."

"I already told you, I bushwacked and it showed up. I feel save overthere with it around, way more save as I ever did."

"I know", she said as she handed over the small bag. "Be sure you made all your arrangements before you eat it. This time there is no way back".

The charcoal drawing of the Buffalo is made today by my kid.

This is my entry at the #daily-5-minute-freewrite with the prompt "bushwacked" (first time I heard about the word and at first I did not know what to write. My earlier story about a bushman I deleted).
