Manager

Unless working for yourself, it is usually necessary to deal with and appease a manager. Whether or not they were kind was the luck of the draw for the fiesty gal from the Midwest.

Callie had worked at numerous bartending jobs and had quit whenever the manager started to criticize her work habits. She felt she was a good waitress and didn’t need to be harrased by a power hungry smart alec who didn’t have her experience.

”We like our bar waitress to wear sexy clothes and makeup.”
“You need to push more drinks as our profits are down.”
“Don’t take out your phone while on the job”.

Callie has a pretty woman with long curly black hair she struggled with daily to keep under control. She didn’t realize others thought she was beautiful with her flawless skin, snapping dark eyes and ready smile. Makeup was something she hadn’t wore since experimenting with it in high school days and she wasn’t going to start now. Nor was she going to dress to show off her cleavage.

Now as the years passed Callie looked back on her working career and thought the best years were when she had a manager who inspired her and gave the workplace a positive cheery energy.

These are the managers Callie remembered with fondness.
