The Spa, 7 Children And A Rugby Match (5 Minute Freewrite)
Prompt: Spa
It is a beautiful spa, an amazing experience to be had for locals and visitors in the city of Bath, England. However, for some people, that is not good enough.
When I say people, I mean children. A group of 4 brothers and 3 sisters did not appreciate it. They would much rather it was made of fizzy orange drink.
If I'm honest, I don't blame them. Fizzy orange drink is nice.
They look up to the sky. “Please provide us with fizzy orange drink.”
Then there was a shining light.
“Thank goodness, the light is working,” says the maintenance man.
It is nice for the light to work but there is no wizard to provide an endless supply of fizzy orange. What do these children do?
Actually, the oldest child, Richard, is more interested in a Rugby match. His team Bath, are playing Bristol. Bristol is only a few miles away.
“I'm off to the match.”
Before he gets a chance to leave, there is another shining light. This time it is a wizard.
“You can have one wish.”
Richard does not hesitate. “Please let Bath win the rugby match against Bristol.”
“Done,” says the wizard.
And there we have it. 6 pissed off children and no endless supply of fizzy orange. To make matters worse, Bath lost the rugby match against Bristol.
The wizard returns.
“When I said done, I merely acknowledged your wish. I am the wizard of Bristol and I like Rugby too. Make better use of your wish next time. Have a nice day.”
