The Dude And World Peace (Freewrite Story)

Once upon a time, there was a peace loving dude. He never wanted any war.

He was walking along the woods when a tree started to talk to him.

“Hello Dude,” said the tree.

“Hello tree,” said the Dude.

“I have a name,” said the tree.

“What is it?” asked the Dude.

“I’ve forgotten,” said the tree. “What I do know, is that you have a wish. Make it now.”

“I wish for all people to live in peace and harmony.”

“Granted,” said the tree.

The dude made his way back home.

“I wonder if my dream had come true. Let’s see who the President is. That may give me a clue.”

He had a look online.

“Oh, it is the same president. Not much has changed. World peace is a nice idea though.”

Later on, the Dude decided to take a walk. There was a homeless man with a overgrown beard.

The Dude decided to give him a bit of money.

“Thank you,” said the homeless man. “My name is George. I could have been a rich man. I had an idea for a story about a war in space, but nobody is interested in war these days.”

The Dude looked closer.

“Oh, my god, what have I done?”

There was one other burning question.

“How come the president is still the president?”

He went home and switched on the TV. The Dude put the news channel on.

It is still the same president, but he looks very different. He’s got long hair and a beard. He looks like a dude.

So there we have it. World peace is achieved.

However, the Dude did not feel entirely comfortable with this.

“I’m going back to the tree,” he thought to himself.

“The president may be a chilled out bloke, but I can’t live without Star Wars.”
