A Story About A Cliffhanger

“Oh no, the brakes are gone. I think this is it.”

The car continues to move slowly down the hill towards the edge of the cliff.

“Leave the car, let's go.”

“My door won't open,” shouted Andrew.

“Mine is working,” shouted Peter. “Get out this side.”

Peter manages to escape but Andrew has further to go. The car starts to move a little quicker and Andrew is still inside.

This is the story of two friends who had known each other since their school days. They were like brothers. One sunny spring afternoon they decided to take a drive around the country.

One of the highlights of that afternoon, was to stop in the local pub. A place to buy a local ale. As driving is involved, they restrict themselves to one pint only. They also look to see what food is available.

“A Sunday carvery, fantastic.

“What shall we do afterwards?” asked Peter.

“The cliffs here are beautiful,” replied Andrew. “Truly amazing. People come from all over for the views.”

After the meal, they get into the car of Andrew and drive around the country.

“So beautiful,” remarked Peter

“This is a good place to stop and have a look,” suggested Andrew.

“I agree,” said Peter.

They both get out of the car to admire the spectacular view.

“This gives me inspiration,” said Peter. “I think I'll write a story.”

Peter continues to share his inspirational thoughts.

“How about a bit of drama? Two characters who are driving around the cliff on a beautiful sunny day. Then tragedy strikes. The brakes begin to fail."
