Day #5 Personal Freewrite Challenge - An Ill Tempered Temperament

in #freewrite8 years ago (edited)

Day 5 is here and a late morning freewrite it has been. Woke up extra early to be in the meetup for my dtube community, dtubedaily, so though very motivated, energy is definitely lacking. Hopefully this does not reflect to heavily in my writting attempt today. Hope you all enjoy the read and as always big love to @mariannewest for creating this initiative. Prompt: grocery list

Just another day filled with the same old routine. I guess that's why it is called routine isn't it? Same old bullshit, different day. The task always seem to take more time the more times I have to do them he thought. Why can't all of these requirements of life just be done for me? ugh! I don't even feel motivated enough to cook breakfast for myself today, why would I want to go buy the ingredients that would allow for me to achieve this simple task? Where the hell are my car keys anyway? I always seem to forget my car keys. Maybe I should put them on that hook by the door i put up months ago? Nah, to much effort to remember.

Finally he had found his keys resting on the bed side table and was out the door on his way to the market. Man I hope there isn't going to be the usual Sunday traffic downtown today but why hope for something that always is? Seems like a meaningless way to spend this energy. Ugh, why is the car so damn hot?? This summer heat really needs to break soon or i am going to loss it he begins to think before putting the keys into the ignition and turning the car over. Click.... Click.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Another turn of the key Click.... click, then suddenly the engine burst into life. Thank heavens that didn't come to be. I literally was ready to loss it.

Just as suspected as soon as he approached the downtown area there was the same gridlock of cars trying to make their way as quickly as they could to their destinations but those that manned the vehicles really had no reason to be going to these place with such haste. After all, it was Sunday, who works on a Sunday anyway? After bumper to bumper frustration and a 20 minute trip that should have taken five he finally had arrived at the market. Alright in and out he thought. You do this ever week, it will be easy. A short attempt to encourage some level of positive outlook on this mundane task.

As he stepped through the automatic sliding doors into the air conditioned space he reached into his pocket and upon doing so realized something that was about to send his already tested temperament over the edge. He left his grocery list sitting on the kitchen table....

The Old Steemian’s Home everyone is under the attack of infamous masonic Port-a-potties. They have been sent from their lord, the evil Hairy Potty, to destroy the creativity of this community! Will you help the Home to resist the siege and fight back? Here are our weapons!

Days like this come for us all. Just a matter of finding a way to see the positives that come from them :) Thanks for the comment!

I had something worse happen to me recently. I had all of my groceries and I was at the checkout when I realized I left my wallet at home. 😒

I would have paid with a freewrite.

They don't accept sbd at your local market yet?! Sorry to hear about that!

That does happen so often!! Especially when one is irritated...

It happens to the best of us :)
