Pen - Freewrite
She sat in the small dark attic behind the rickety old wooden desk just like she did every night.
Her uncomfortable metal chair with no cushion rocked back and forth when she moved even in inch because one of the legs was damaged and it didn't sit upright anymore.
Amber didn't have much in her life.
All she had these days were her stories.
Her husband was a TV salesman who worked at a local electronics shop.
She was a simple housewife. They never had any kids.
That was his idea. He thought kids would be too much to deal with on his salary.
It never occurred to him to get a better job and she was too meek to speak up about it.
She started writing stories about a family that had children and went on picnics and loved each other in ways that she wished she and her husband did.
At first she just wrote them downstairs in the bathroom.
Then one day while she was exploring the house she discovered that the attic could be cleaned up and made into a small writing room.
Her husband didn't even know about it.
"He held her bosom tightly and told her how glad he was to know that she was about to give birth to his child." she wrote fiercely.
Her mom had given her this pen when she was just a young girl.
She didn't know that her mom used to sneak up into the attic and write stories as well.
"I've never loved anyone as much as I love you."
She began to care more about the character in her stories then she did about her own husband.
It was tragic in it's own way but it was the only escape she could find.

This story is moving...one that I think most writers can relate to. Thank you so much for sharing and I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts in the future

Writing, the portal that opens on infinite universes.
Today I put on my face a @mariannewest 's mask and - trying to reproduce her charming voice - I'm happy to proclaim that on this weekend you have the following options!
You have the choice of a single prompt: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/weekend-freewrite-1-6-2018-single-prompt-option
Or you can get adventurous and weave three 5minute freewrites into one story starting with this prompt: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/weekend-freewrite-1-6-2018-part-1-the-first-sentence
it's heart touching, yes you can change the things when you express them and writings is the best way for it
