I do not know about you, but as a child I wanted to practice so many things and my parents did not enroll me in any of them.
- I said karate: It is NOT for girls
- I would like to play flute: Who will take you and bring you?
- And artistic gymnastics? - Not because it's very expensive.
And so ... Of those that I named I did learned a little bit, in school they taught me to play the flute and my neighbors who did practiced in the sports center taught me some pirouettes, (I can still do the handstand and the bridge).
Today, as a mom, I tried as much as possible for my daughter Luz to participate in some extracurricular activity, of course I am not the kind of mother who wants to see her dream realized in her children, but I gave them options and an opportunity to choose.
In this we must be careful with our children, and not frustrate them by wanting them to do what we could not. They are different from us and as part of their individuality they have the right to like something different than us.
It is important to give them the freedom to express their opinion and their tastes. Letting them explore sports, music, dance, art at an early age and then decide what they really want.
Practicing something just to please probably will not get good results as participating in the activity that you are passionate about.
Luz is very dynamic and has a unique ability to perform well in different areas. I enrolled her in a Colombeia academy where they taught to 4 year old baby a little bit of theater, dance, singing, drawing, and there was a gym teacher. What a joy ! when She escaped from art class to gym class. It was an opportunity that I did not miss and I took her to the gym and there I started as a rhythmic gymnast, for transport reasons she could not continue and she asked me to study music so I pre-registered and approved the admission evaluation with 20 points , today she is in the music conservatory, playing the violin. And I hope to be able to help both of my daughters despite what we live in our country.
I know that a child with an extracurricular activity who is passionate gives them discipline.
As an adult I wanted to practice Yoga, and I did not either. Guess who did it?

Get Luz to practice yoga with you. Luz is adorable and sounds very talented. It is good that she is trying so many different things. I love butterflies so please tell Luz that I love her outfit. : )
We kinda love butterflies too...
She has a very noble heart and is very polite. Today I did not send her to classes, today they would make the gift of Father's Day, and I did not want her to feel bad, because her father a year ago decided to forget her in every way. It's no fair to her. I want to keep that heart pure as much as i can.
Aw, that is so sad. You did the right thing by keeping her out of classes. It is not fair to her at all. His loss! My ex and I split up when my daughter was 5 years old and she went through life thinking that the divorce was her fault, even though I explained that the divorce had nothing to do with her. Best wishes for your daughter. I know your heart breaks for her.
It’s great to see the activities available for children today. There was nothing like that when I was growing up but it was a small village.

Yes there's so many things to choose from. Very positive as long as we do not see it as a nursery.
