Continuation - Prompt Part II

BANG !!!

That was the last thing Inspector Robertson remembered before he was knocked out & left all alone in the cold back alley of this forsaken city. This wasn’t the treatment he was expecting when he took this assignment but his superior from Scotland Yard assured him that this was an easy task and he’ll be back in a matter of days.

He blinked his eyes several times, getting his bearings of where he was. It was a large room with several small fluorescent ceiling lights. A familiar smell greeted him; fresh blood ... seems like only yesterday this was his life. How he had tried to stay away from it.

5 centuries ago, this little town was ruled by the Malkaukines family. They lived in the eastern part of the town, surrounded by 200 over acres of land. 5 siblings lived in that great mansion; Elijah, Nicklaus, Samantha, Joshua & Lucas. In order to avoid any suspicion amongst the locals, they changed their names time over time. Sometimes, they would travel up north for a couple of years, but they will always returned back. ALWAYS !

Robertson knew this place very well. It was the mansion in which he had lived all his life before he left this town in pursued of justice. He can only guess the reason for his sudden imprisonment. His hands & legs were tied behind his back... he tried to reach out for his pocket knife but it was too deep inside his jacket pocket.

Looking for something, darling...

Robertson looked up and thought to himself.

DAMN!! She’s still as beautiful as the first day I saw her. It’s as if she’s never aged at all. How could she! He knew perfectly well why but chose not to go back to memory lane. It’s too painful to remember it all. He got a grip of himself and pulled himself back up to face the beautiful lady in front of him. She had somehow gotten close to him, almost inches from his face.

Samantha laughed hysterically & said... If you can find a way out from here, you’ll find me. Then, she was gone.

Robertson heard loud sounds, coming from all over. It was getting louder & nearer too. Oh no! Water was gushing down from all over into the large room. Somehow, it was overflowing & he was beginning to float. The water was rising & it won’t be long before the whole room was filled up right to the top. With limited resources and physical accessibility movement, there was only so much he could do. He closed his eyes & started to remember the mansion and all its secret corridors & rooms.

YES! He quickly swam towards the north side of the room and with his hands tied up, he searched for the secret compartment. It wasn’t long before he found the little door knob and quickly turned the plug anti-clockwise 3 times and clockwise 2 times. He was beginning to run out of air as water was rising really fast. He took the largest gulp of air he could and waited.

The secret door opened up and instead of being sucked out from the large room, more water came in from the secret compartment...

But it wasn’t just water. The liquid was red... It was blood, fresh blood...

The last thing he saw was Samantha staring at him, laughing once more
