The reddest of reds, like a crimson tide... Yep. Yep. You know what I mean. Like a scarf that came out of you... You know. Blood. Bloody red scarf.

There's a small nook. A cranny, really, that's filled with yarn. Bright red yarn. It's all tumbled about, and a mouse has made a nest in it. In real life, that's pretty nasty. Mice aren't the tidiest of creatures, and they kinda poop wherever, but this is fiction, and so, this mouse in a nest was the cutest little critter you can imagine. In fact, this mouse was reading a book. It was still a mouse, though. It couldn't thumb through pages, but it could, tediously, tear pages one at a time, and tediously flip them to read the other side. This mouse was an avid reader, but it still took it an entire year just to get through the first Harry Potter novel.

Regardless, this mouse, named Chet, spent as much time as possible reading her books, but sometimes she had to venture out for food. She was 3 years old (so she had read three books) and was middle aged for a mouse. She really wished that she could live longer, because there was so much more to read. But she...
