The Great Change (5-minute Freewrite: Prompt - Ornate)
Black.
Grey.
Brown.
You could only see these three colours in her wardrobe. From the top to the pants, to watches, bags and shoes. Just these three colours. She was always gloomy, stingy of smile and laughter.
When she was a child, her parents did not have good marriage. Everything was destroyed when they decided for a divorce. She was their only daughter and she wished to stay with her mum. But dad won the case simply because he was financially independent and the court wanted someone who could provide proper shelter and education.
She grew up lonely and depressed. And almost resorted to the lifestyle of a tomboy. Lucky her to have a pretty sweet face and gentle kind gestures.
One day, she stumbled into a church due to invitation from friends. It was her first time in her life she felt love and real connection with people. She became a firm believer and got her life's deep inner hurt restored. There was great renewal of mind as well as tremendous transformation as a whole. She knew who she was and got back her self-worth and security.
That day, she asked for extra pocket money from father and went out on shopping spree. .
Reaching home with lots of paper bags of stuffs, she ran upstairs. After a couple of hours, she surprised her father when he saw her with red top and a flowery skirts. Her face was glowing with simple make-up with rosy cheek and light tint of pink on her lips.
"Meeting boyfriend?" Her father asked. This was the first time he ever really bothered to ask.
"No, I am meeting mother," she replied bubbly and happily walked out of the house.
Her father went upstairs to where her room was, and saw a new ornate door of hers with the decoration of flowers and heart-shaped ornament. He had a quick peek into her room and was shocked at the great change. From greyish wall, it was now a simple classy light pink wall paper. Looking up, he found an ornate ceiling too.
"Exactly like her mum," he whispered under his breathe.
