5 min Writing Prompt "Awaken" #freewrite
The ancient god thundered, "Who dares awaken me from my slumber?"
At the foot of the steps to the altar, Professor Graham and his sidekick Wendy dropped reverently to their knees. "It is I, oh great one." The professor exclaimed. "The last of a line that once worshipped you so long ago..."
The god grumbled in an annoyed voice. "And how long have I been asleep?"
"Ten thousand years to this day, my lord."
"Ten thou-" the god sputtered, and then began to whine. "That's nowhere near long enough!"
The professor and Wendy exchanged glances. He turned back to the altar. "My lord, a great tribulation-"
"LISTEN. Do you see that panel on the wall to your right?"
The professor peered over at a rectangular stone block imbedded in the wall. "Yes, my lord..."
"Well go over there and press it now."
With a sense of trepidation, the professor rose to his feet and walked over to the panel in the wall. He stopped and looked up at the altar.
"Go on. Press it."
The professor pressed the stone. A loud chime rang out through the temple.
The god yawned. "That's my snooze alarm. See you in a thousand years."
Written in five minutes from the writing prompt, "Awakening" as part of the #freewrite exercise. Image is also by me. I know you said you had misgivings about your computer being able to handle the Discord app, but you can run that also from a webpage. Maybe your computer can handle that more easily until you become rich enough on Steemit to buy yourself some fancy new one.
Anyway, the invitation still stands and we would still love to see you there. We may be able to help you considerably to gain more appropriate rewards and better visibility. Meanwhile ...
