My Son Daniel and I went down to Veterans Park on the Tennessee River for a couple of hours of fishing and relaxation a couple of weeks ago. This is a quiet little Park in town with just a small section of the river just above Wilson Dam that is accessible for fishing. We were using minnows on lite tackle pretty much just goofing off and enjoying the early Spring day. Dan was able to catch this magnificent 6+ pound Smallmouth Bass, a nice catch on a heavier rod and reel, but he did a really great job of landing this fish using panfish size gear. It created a nice photo op also before we released the fish back into the water. Can you imagine what kind of stories such a fish went back to tell his friends? After he finishes his tale of being lifted out of the water, flying through the air, and having his picture taken with an ugly two-legged giant, and then tossed back into the river, do you think his buds will buy the story hook, line, and sinker?

**Disclaimer: I often use the freewrite prompt to tell a story instead of doing a pure freewrite, so they sometimes take longer than 5 minutes and usually have some editing. But I try to do my story straight through at one sitting without any unnecessary breaks.

A lovely fish tale and I believed every word of it ... that is saying something:)

Nice catch! I love to fish. You never cease to crack me up Lee. Your ending got me off guard and it was so funny. Loved it! LOL! : )

He looks so happy to catch the fish. He did it! No matters what his mates believe!

I don't think the kids will believe the old man and still will bite your hook next time you go... 😉

@deaconlee You have earned a random upvote from @botreporter because this post did not use any bidbots.
