Prompt of the day “Cologne” - Has Always Seemed Discriminatory To Me!
Masculin vs Feminine, never really understood why the separation of sexes happens from a language perspective.
French I know it’s right in the grammar, la and le, never did fully grasp the language because of these slight differences. The same differences that made me a laughing stock in French class in junior high school.
I can imagine no woman wishes to be called a man and vice versa but why do we categorize inanimate objects or items also?
Is it because of possession, “that’s my perfume” she says met with his reply “I’ll get my cologne then”.... yet my cologne is unisex....
Is there a unisex perfume to go with my unisex cologne? I think not!
This brings me to the conclusion it’s a masculine thing. We must remember languages were developing during a time when woman were largely overlooked as contributing parts of society.
We can find many works from male authors dating far back in history but seldom will we find anything written by a female.
The separation of sexes within the items we use has always seemed discriminatory to me!

This is a good observation and I have always felt for women who were taught to ignore the brain for useful skills and the women through history who were brilliant carried a certain privacy and even wrote, if led, under Male pseudonyms to be considered at all. I'm glad we can freely study and create in modern times.

Aircraft carriers are a She but it can annihilate countries, makes me wonder.
She is often used to represent the destruction of mother nature in the inanimate objects we label.
I find it funny, the whole women in society thing.
For example, it's believed that back in ancient-ancient times, women were revered. Then, suddenly, there's nothing, zilch, men men men. Until now.
But now it's getting stupid. I hate "feminism" today. There's nothing equal about it. Most women who claim to be feminists today, striving for women to succeed, are just man haters. I had to google the term. Misandry. We all know what Misogyny is, but the female version is Misandry, and far too many women are... misandrists? There's no red underline! I must've gotten it right, haha.
Don't mind me, babbling.
I'll be honest though, I love a good men's cologne. I don't think I've personally seen a unisex one, but to be fair, I don't really look! And I can't stand women's perfumes. But just the right cologne, oooh!
Anyway!
Yea way back when women were revered because they were bringers of life... men have a way of screwing natural things up it seems 😅
Ohh don’t even get me started on feminism lmao listened to my mother go off several times, she always loved the idea of a stay at home house wife. She loved to cook, garden, farm animals, arts & crafts, you name it and all that requires much free time! It’s a dream me and my fiancé may never actually see in the city life.

And I thought perfume is for both male and female... 😂 But yes, we do associate cologne for men. And I just found out the word eau de cologne or eau de parfum all are based on the amount of oil in it.
So we did the discrimination in the 1st place. I wonder... =)
Well maybe its just me whom thinks one is for male and the other female.... ahh well.... interesting little bit of information about the oil I did not know that!
