Lady in Red - 5 minute freewrite

For those of you not familiar with the freewrite, you basically have 5 minutes to write a story, beginning to end. Then post it to your page.
Below is my attempt to tell a story in 5 minutes using the prompt "Sizzling"

They were out to celebrate their fifth anniversary. He brought her to the best restaurant in town, which he couldn't afford, but he wanted the night to be special, so he would live beyond his means for a night. She was worth it.
The table settings were ornate, a swan for a napkin, sterling sliver polished to perfection and the finest crystal.. The waiter took their coats, and they sat down at their table. Some beads of sweat gathered beneath his shirt, as he studied the menu and it's lofty prices.
The kitchen door swung open, and a waiter walked out with a sizzling hot plate. The chili and garlic hung in the air and caught the back of his throat, he followed the smell with his eyes. Time froze. It couldn't be. She had moved away when they were fifteen, they were to write to each other. His letters were never reciprocated..
"Sir... Sir... Can I get you a drink"
"Ah, yes..... Ah, we'll have a bottle of this please" he said without thinking
"A fine choice sir, a fine choice"
It would want to be at €360 a bottle. His mind was in 1995 now, the bottle could have cost €36,000 and he would not have noticed. So many questions ran through his mind..
Where had she been?
Did she get all of the letters?
Why didn't she write back?
He had given up on her all those years ago. It took a long time, but he had moved on. He met the love of his life five years ago and was madly in love. Yet there she sat across the room, dressed in a beautiful red dress, her smile lighting up the room. He hadn't had this feeling in twenty years.
Is how love feels?
What should he do..
What would you do?
Oohh - a harsh subject for a guy: the old flame! All those hypothetical "what if's?" I have an answer for that bucco: keep it in the pants and focus on the missus across the table!! Then again, I'm prejudice. A good wife (or a good husband) is worth their weight in gold and if missy sizzle didn't return his letters then obviously she doesn't give a S*** and is not worth it!!
Well said @mysecondself01. You are dead right... Characters like this find out the hard way that far away hills are always greener, and romanticise the past into something it may not have been, especially at 15 years of age.. Thanks for the comments as always
My fiction answer:
Not a problem, happens all the time. I just ignore them as if I didn't see them at all and let them get a good look at my trophy bride, in a few days I can expect a letter or an out of the blue phone call. 😉
My real life answer:
I would ignore them unless they spoke and if they did I would introduce them to my trophy bride and let her handle it from there, her evil look is usually enough to chill any thoughts of... well any thoughts beyond nice to meet you but I hope to never see you again. 😎
