Handy to know - 5 Minute Freewrite - prompt: ski
HANDY TO KNOW
There are 206 bones in the adult human body. Peter broke 97 of them in 2009, while skiing in the Swiss Alps, or let me rephrase, while trying to ski in the Swiss Alps! Peter is one of these guys who expects to be able to do everything straight away.. After a couple of days lessons, off he goes to the black diamond piste, with a bounce in his walk and air of 'Im the feckin man'
He hit every rock, tree and person on his decent and broke almost every bone on his body, bones you've never heard of..
The Trapezium - I'm pretty sure I've seen these at a circus before with a heap of acrobats hanging out of them.
The Pisiform - I though that was more of a term for the actions of a guy who doesn't buy his round on a night out.
The Hamate bone - More akin to what you say to your pal, when he slips on ice and nearly creels himself, but doesn't.
The Scaphoid bone - sounds more like the musical genre made famous by "The Specials"
Still, I suppose, it's pretty handy to know these bone names all the same.
For those not familiar with the freewrite, you basically have 5 minutes to write a story, beginning to end. Then post it to your page.
Thanks to @mariannewest for this outlet, I've really enjoyed taking part so far.
This weeks prompt was "ski" and the post can be found here https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-113-5-minute-freewrite-friday-prompt-ski
@ablaze by reviewing all the freewriters I can say that you're skilled and have a great sense of humour. Why don't you add a picture and a description to your account? Are you perhaps a masonic purple squirrel in a secret mission?
Welcome to the weekend freewrite banquet! Another seven days have passed in a blink and every day we grow stronger thanks to the energy of our limitless creativity! But let’s just cut to the chase, here is the menu that our master chef @mariannewest has expertly prepared for us:
Delicatessen #1 – Single prompt option
Delicatessen #2 – Weekend freewrite in three parts: 1- 2 - 3
Hi @F3nix, you are so good. I have taken your advise and updated my page with a profile pic and some info about me.. I'm new to all of this, so advise like that is golden.. Thanks a million for the kind words about my writing too.. I'm a telecoms engineer, and hadn't written anything like these freewrites and fifty words since I was in school 20 years ago... Uni and work for me was all maths, science and technology, but I always loved English and the Arts at school, so it is really nice to receive such encouraging words from you and the others in the freewrite and fiftywords communities... I'm going to keep uploading my stories when time allows :)
Hi @ablaze! You have received 0.1 SBD tip from @f3nix!
@f3nix wrote lately about: A Beam Of Lost Universes [Day 101 Freewrite - Hardboiled Minds]. Feel free to follow @f3nix if you like it :)
You can now delegate SP to @tipU for daily profit:) Click here to learn more :)
Please do keep uploading because they're fine and a pleasure to read. Your account now talks about you, you gave it a soul and it made me realize that I wasn't following you, so I did it. If you being a beginner will write something interesting, as I know you can, you will receive a curie vote. I got it at my second and I received 70$ .. It happens once but it happens when you write worthy stuff (thanks to @arcange). Also write something interesting and tag it #ocd-resteem they're curators and you may be part of their curating review and gain a lofty reward. Once you will cash in something, use it for your SP (never put 100% sp in your articles but just convert the sbd with an exchange like blocktrades). Also use it for good bots. Wuhh this is just the tip! of the iceberg my friend 😉 Obviously: create meaningful content and relations, be altruistic always.. amen! Lol
Ahhh, you are so good, well if that reply isn't altruistic, I don't know what is.. thanks a mil.. I've been following you and a bunch of the freewrite gang since I happened upon this cool little writing community. It's most of what I do on here at the moment :)
Until you trying skiing .....
Indeed!! Those are all bones of the hand I referenced (funny the things you remember from Uni!), which is what I was trying to get at, but I can be too cryptic at times :)
True, but that is okay, so long as the reader finally comes along to demystify your crypts!!
Definitely :)
cheers!
Skiing is truly one of the best ways to learn about body parts. 😁
True story!! ;)
I sure hope that this is not a true story!! Glad that f3nix is giving you advice. It is really hard to find your way around here in the beginning...
Ha ha, pure fiction thank god :) It was so nice of @f3nix to share those words of wisdom. I have found that so often on the Steemit platform since joining a fortnight ago. Real warmth, generosity and a welcoming vibe from the community, and particularly in the freewrite and fiftywords groups. I'm so glad I found this little corner of the internet. I can really see it as a game changer in how people interact online, with the values from everyday life reciprocated online. Viva Steemit!
