Muhammad Asad, real name Leopold Weiss born 12 July 1900 – 20 February 1992, was a Jewish-born Austro-Hungarian journalist, traveler, writer, linguist, thinker, political theorist, diplomat and Islamic scholar. He reverted to Islam, translated Qur'an in English, wrote many books on Islam and on his journeys. His adventures encompasses the whole world, from Europe to Asia, and Middle-East to United States. Muhammad Asad is considered as the most influential European Muslims of the 20th century.
