There’s a home on STEEM for high profile content creators
Intro
The vast majority of us will agree that the spirit of STEEM is that of a free speech platform. As with big social media, free speech IS NOT just speech you agree with, or speech that fits your political bent.
A free speech platform is a platform where all ideas can be discussed, even the controversial ones. On a free speech platform, sunlight disinfects the bad ideas, and encourages the good ones.
Why now?
With all the de-platforming going on in traditional social media, STEEM is here with open arms. Now is the time to attract these personalities to STEEM. Unfortunately, they will not come and stay simply with organic growth. They need concentrated and consistent support from the STEEM community. They will be looking for replacements for demonetization on YouTube, Patreon, and Paypal
Mission statement
We seek too attract disillusioned internet personalities to the STEEM ecosystem, and to encourage fair and open debate.
Goals:
Attract personalities with large followings (think signing bonus, campaigns).
Incentivize them to stay on the platform (think residual income, i.e. large upvotes, fixed curation).
Facilitate cross posting using dapps like @steempress and @share2steem.
Facilitate monetization, fiat offboarding, etc.
Onboarding of supporters to STEEM (i.e. attracting from other platforms such as Patreon, PayPal, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.).
Encouraging supporters to ditch Paypal, Patreon, and YouTube memberships and instead use STEEM and SBD.
Encourage personalities to participate/endorse other DApps on STEEM (cross-promotional opportunities).
Find new and exciting ways to attract and retain high profile content creators (always open to ideas).
In conclusion, the best way to grow STEEM as a platform, is to attract and retain high profile content creators with large followings. They will derive value from the STEEM platform, and communicate that value to their followers.
In an upcoming post, I will introduce you to a new high profile member of the STEEM community, @tommyrobinson. Tommy is a controversial figure who was recently banned from Facebook, where he had over one million followers.
