Setup

Setting up was a little easier this time around. No need for excess stands for acrylic or colored gels. The lighting was also quite simple.

Basically, we wanted to have a little backlight on the hair and some that would catch the side of the arms slightly and a key light. Harsh shadows were okay as this isn't a shadowless beauty series!

Posing is key to getting these shots right. Jenna blew us away with some of hers. The difficult part is to be able to to pose and model without being modely or posey.

This is when the key flash misfires and the back flash actually catches.

If we were to pump that image up, it would look like this.

This is crazy and almost looks like old film with the graininess. The difference is the lines and spots have patterns representing the receptors on the sensor.

Oops, this photo loaded sideways. Weird. Anyways, I tend to make people laugh and have a good time. Sometimes it's not the best since relaxing the face is key to taking a good shot.

Again, sideways.

Here's the cool thing. A flash misfire but strike in the back leads to really neat silhouettes. Interesting concept for a future shoot.

Images in Color

This is my first time doing technical color balance on anything. So bare with me as I'm learning to see color more clearly. I loved how the images turned out with color, so I thought I'd share. I did the full balancing of them in color, then altered them into black and white. It's a unique experience. But getting the right color skintones and balance is quite the exercise!

Wow... It's really nice of you to have nothing else to say.. :D

These are stunning, @playitforward! So different from the bright colour of the neon shoot but has the same vibrance to it. Love the black and white photos and how something or the other stands out in each one. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Thank you so much! :) @manouche, and also the insightful look and comment let’s me know you paid deep attention. :)
