The dust has finally settled: @berniesanders and @haejin

in #forthepeople7 years ago (edited)

I often find in politics there is a 'winning' syndrome. Where the ego prevails and instead of parties meeting to resolve an issue, it is instead forgotten, and the aim becomes purely to win the argument at the cost of everyone else.

But this is not politics of a country, this is politics of the crypto world. And crypto just isnt like everything else, is it?

Lets be honest, for someone just joining the platform for the first time, it would be like stepping into a virtual warzone. On the surface alone, @haejin was fabricated as a greedy bastard and @berniesanders was parading around like a massive bell end with a grudge. Should you take the others side, both have enough power to burn your rep to the ground with a fire even MacGyver couldnt put out. I wont delve into the details - but both had valid points.

Some people were afraid to speak out, in fear of blackmarking their account and reputation. A pretty shit scenario for a minnow and lower stake holders alike. But now things have changed.

Common ground has been found, and the dust has finally settled. (Post from @berniesanders can be found here: https://steemit.com/forthepeople/@berniesanders/an-agreement-has-been-reached)

The crypto world is a strange place as opposed to the FIAT economy. It is still a place of greed and fear, which as @haejin constantly points out, is what drives the prices throughout the markets. Yet when we look at the big picture, we are offered a much brighter outlook and realise it is a place of opportunity, equality and abundance.

Dont you think its incredible how people in less developed countries can earn the same amount as someone blogging in the western world, simply with an internet connection and some form of smartphone or laptop? Rhetorical question. It is. And they can do it right here on this platform. They are rewarded by individuals, us, the collective STEEMIT community.

Once we all remember this is a community platform and that crypto as a whole could bring more equality throughout the world, maybe there is a certain beauty watching these two whales finally settle on an agreement (forgive?) and move on.

From a positive perspective, this whole dispute may have made the platform a better place. The example is set; people with power will dispute, but a resolution is found, and its the community who will benefit (politicians take note).

On behalf of the community, thanks for sorting your shit out, Legends!

(Plot twist - were they lovers all along and the arguing was a mere form of exhausting all the sexual tension?)

Sort:

Reminds me of this funny video of Bush and Blair. Great to see things have settled down. Good for the platform.

Ah missed your comment @gsari!

Bush and Blair are like bert and ernie - but on a much less comical basis!
