Ford Acquires Two Transportation Software Companies
Ford Motor Company has announced the acquisition of two transportation software companies, Autonomic and TransLoc. Though the company has not disclosed the sum of the acquisitions, but the company's stocks remained stagnant. Ford Motor also announced to accelerate the delivery of new products, like microtransit services and self-driving cars.
As per the company statement, the two startups would help develop the automaker’s forthcoming Transportation Mobility Cloud, an open-sourced platform for cities and other transportation partners. The company is also planning to expand its Chariot microtransit service to other cities as well.
The company also announced a new marketing and growth division to focus on global marketing efforts for mobility businesses. No doubt the company is in profits but sales are stagnant and with these new acquiring, the company is trying its best to produce better results.
