Today on our dinner table: poulet de cornouaille 🍷
Poulet de Cornouaille
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
- 1 cup of white wine
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of chicken broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat the butter and olive oil in a large oven-proof skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the thyme and rosemary and cook for another minute.
- Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until lightly browned on both sides, about 5 minutes.
- Pour the white wine over the chicken.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and chicken broth.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and pour the cream mixture over the chicken.
- Return the skillet to the oven and bake for another 25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot.
