Coated Sardines and Mackerel fried

Sardines and Mackerels are rich in vitamins and minerals.They are also one of the highest sources Omega 3 fatty acids,importantly been shown to lower unhealthy cholesterol levels and triglycerides ,making them one of the most important foods for a healthy cardio vascular system.

Ingredients:

Sardines and mackerel 200 gm each

Chilly powder - 1- 2 T
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Ground black pepper - 1-1 1/2 t
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil for frying

For coating batter:

White flour - 1 c
Egg white - 2
oil - 2 dsp
water - 1/2 c
Salt - to taste

Method :

Clean and wipe the fish .Make a few cut marks on the fish.
Mix all the ingredients and marinade the fish and leave it for 3-4 hrs.

Dip each fish into the coating batter and fry in hot oil,and serve hot.

Method for coating batter :

Sieve the flour and salt into a basin and make a well in the center.
Add oil and water.Mix to a smooth paste and beat until smooth.
Cover and stand for 30 mins.
Whisk the egg white until stiff and fold into the batter and use immediately.
N.B. If short of eggs , 1 tsp of baking powder may be sustituted for egg white just before use.
