Healthy Breakfast Challenge : Berry Banana Smoothie Bowl (Raw & Vegan)

You like it fast, healthy and tasty? This smoothie has it all - with only a few minutes preparation time, nutritious ingredients and a piece of heaven for your taste buds. I’ve created this plant-based treasure by myself, with the perfect amount of energy that I need for an active and vibrant day ahead. 

The recipe is surprisingly easy, so that it fits even the most time-limited person - no matter if you are a workaholic, mom of three or student in a rush. Just blend the following ingredients, put the smoothie mixture into a breakfast bowl, add some nuts and seeds if you like. Before diving in, thank yourself for giving your body the fruity fuel that it needs for being a hero today.

  • 250g frozen berries
  • 4 bananas
  • 2 tbsp flaxseed
  • 50ml water
  • 1 kale leaf (optional)

If you want to keep it a little lighter in the morning, you might want to use less berries and bananas. For your extra boost of nature’s goodness, also put some leafy greens (e.g. kale or spinach) to your smoothie. I promise, with just one or two leaves, you won’t even notice a difference in the sweet deliciousness. You can also add some more water, up to 150ml if you like your smoothie thinner. But keep in mind, that a thicker smoothie mixture helps you to feel satisfied a little earlier and of course, it contains more flavor.

So start your day bright, full of energy, with a smile on your face and a colorful smoothie in your belly!

Das Rezept is erstaunlich einfach, passend für jeden, der keine Zeit zu verschenken hat - egal ob du Workaholic, dreifache Mutter oder Student im Abgabestress bist. Püriere einfach die folgenden Zutaten, schütte sie in eine Schale und streue bei Bedarf einige Nüsse und Samen. Bevor du hineintauchst, bedanke dich bei dir, deinem Körper diesen fruchtigen Kraftstoff zu geben, welcher er für einen weiteren Heldentag benötigt. 

  • 250 gefrorene Beeren
  • 4 Bananen
  • 2 EL Leinsamen
  • 50ml Wasser
  • 1 Grühkohlblatt (optional)

Falls du es morgens gerne etwas leichter angehst, kannst du gerne weniger Bananen und Beeren verwenden. Für den Extraschub an natürlicher Gesundheit, füge ein oder zwei Blätter grünes Blattgemüse (z.B. Grünkohl oder Spinat) hinzu, du wirst sicher keinerlei Geschmacksunterschied bemerken. Du kannst auch gerne mehr Wasser verwenden, wenn du deinen Smoothie etwas dünner lieber magst. Beachte jedoch, dass du dich mit dickeren Smoothie-Mischungen schneller satt fühlst und natürlich enthalten sie mit weniger Wasser mehr Geschmack.

Looking at your post does really inspire me to eat more healthy smoothie bowl like yours. I really like your bowl too, I had a lot of them back at my parent's place. Is one of those plates and bowls that almost every Chinese house has it :D

That sounds great, go for it! The bowls are beautiful, right? They also belong to my parents and they have quite a collection. I didn‘t know that these are the ones in all Chinese households, my parents will feel pretty international when I tell them about it ;-)

Yes, but your smoothies definitely enhanced it! I was crazily bugging my boyfriend to get the grocery done for me, stocking up bunch of fruits but all he got was mangos again! haha. Yes yes, let your parents know, they'll definitely be surprised to know it :D
