More free food on the homestead!
There I was, just hanging out with some sheep like usual. No, seriously, here's a photo.
Suddenly, I had one of those "Isaac Newton moments" where fruit hits you on the head. Always being one to investigate, I looked up, and there they were. Big, Round, and Ripe! Good thing we left these little trees standing!

Fruits and vege that were coming from our backyard is far healthier that those on the market since it is free from pesticides and other chemicals. And most of the times these foods were free!

Free persimmons! Now that is a gift @papa-pepper! The first time I ever tasted them was when my mom visited Israel and smuggled two out for us kids. Of course because they are called Sharon fruit over there and her name is Sharon I believe that was her chief motivation. As an adult travelling to Israel myself I have gorged myself on these delicious fruits. But at least we know get (and grow) persimmons in South Africa!
Very cool! There are some amazing varieties of these wonderful fruits around the world, and we are blessed to have some growing wild here.

They aren’t orange like the ones I’ve seen in fruit magazines and grocery stores...? Different variety, maybe?
The ripe ones are orange. A few existed, but were eaten before the video. These will ripen soon enough.

It tastes like an orange freezer pop, or if you are not familiar with those, like artificial orange flavored candy or something.

I just received your gift to me of some Carolina Reaper Peppers. They are really awsome and thank you so much!
I took several of them and stripped the seeds out with the hope of planting them. I froze them in a ziplock bag for future spicy cooking adventures. I'm sorry I don't have fortitude or pain threshold to eat one raw like you did.

Glad to hear it, and those were ghost peppers. I will have reapers ready soon, so keep an eye out for the taste test.
Are the ones you have anything like the Fuyu Persimmons? I tried a different variety (other than the fuyu) and it wasn't my favorite. I'll have to find out if it was the American variety.
