Oven & Fried Chicken – Komtar JBCC
Komtar JBCC is located just across the Johor causeway from Singapore, next to the more popular JB City Square Mall. In fact, there are more food gems in JBCC than City Square Mall.
We stumbled on Oven & Fried Chicken (OFC) while searching for a place to lunch. OFC is located on level 2, opposite Manhattan Fish Market, our previous favorite spot (however prices have increased by 50% - story for another day).
Our Orders
Original Crunch Boneless – RM 34
Healthful chicken cooked without oil. Had to wait 20 minutes for this since it is oven baked. Tasted a hint of soy. Good at that moment but forgettable. Only the honey mustard lingered.
Haemul Pa Jeon – Korean Seafood Pancake – RM 26
70% flour – 30% ingredients like prawns, cuttlefish and leek. 3 sauces on the side – sweet-sour, chilli, and honey mustard. This would be better if its 60%-40% instead. Taste-wise, it is leaning towards the bland side, which explains the need for the sauces.
Pricing
In JBCC's OFC outlet, listed price is the same relative to Singapore, but priced in RM. You can imagine the healthy discount, giving new meaning to Healthful Chicken.

We should go to JB at least once every month. To enjoy good food at reasonable prices. Haha..

Haha definitely need to pay a visit to this restaurant when go JB central. Tends to go City square only
